SFoG 4/06/04

We decided to go to Six Flags at 10:30 this morning for the second time this year. We got dropped off at the park at 1:00 and immediately headed for Bugs Bunny World. You would not believe what we saw, 15 NEW FOOTERS! After that, we met up with some of my friends and headed to "The Ninja or whatever".

Ninja (6.5/10)- Not bad. It was running pretty well today especially considering that I only banged my head once during the entire ride (with bracing). 5 mins.
We then headed to pick up a Q-bot, since I didn't want to take any chances with the lines and I happened to have a coupon for a free Q-bot. We reserved a ride on Acro and headed to Shake Rattle and Roll.

Shake Rattle and Roll (7/10)- I was very impressed with this ride. Indoors w/ air conditioning on a hot day.
We went over to ride Acro. 10 mins.

Acro (9/10)- Fantastic ride as usual. The ride-ops seem to say the same spiel over and over at the top though(maybe it's printed on a piece of paper?). Q-bot.
We headed over to Superman where we walked straight on (no one was checking the Q-bot line )

Superman (9.5/10)- I just love the pretzel loop, especially in the front. I noticed wierd pops of air at three places. 3 train operation! w00t w00t! Only reason it's not a 10- strange vibrations. Q-bot.
Next, we went to Ninja followed by Scream Machine.

Ninja (4/10)- Same as before except I was spit on at least 5 times by a stupid country hick who then proceeded to curse at the ride-op and was thrown out of the park. Walk-on.

Scream Machine (8/10)- Airtime out the wazoo. Perfect ride, but loading took forever. 40 mins.

Part 2 tomorrow.

I went to SFOG for the first time on Saturday and I was surprised mostly by the Georgia Cyclone. It is now 5th behind Shivering Timbers in my book and is way better than Viper IMO. Scortcher was also awesome but I was expecting a good ride. Acro was cool too but the wait was long.

The Cyclone still remains the one ride where I am not 100 sure Im going to make it back to the station alright....the air in the back seat on the first 4 hills is so insane and terrifying, you'd think Six Flags would have slowed it down.......but I guess they don't realize.....

Cyclone gives some insane air, but Viper's smoothness and great air makes it a better ride than Cyclone is.

I didn't find Cyclone's roughness too bad. You're a little battered in the back but the air more than makes up for it. The on ride photo drop's air is insane. I definatly wasn't expecting that kind of a ride out of a Dinn.

I just hate how much the ride shuffles in the turns, if I could make my own Cyclone I would take GA Cyclone's hills and put in Viper's turns.

Well, I should probably finish this report, but I'm just too lazy. In short, the remaining rides of the day were:
B:TR
Mindbender
DMT
Georgia Scorcher
Ninja
Acro (last public ride)
and also one other ride that I can't remember, but I think might have been GASM.

Anyway I had a good time and a pretty good ride count (13) for only 5 hours at the park. Next visit: 4/18 or 4/25.
