On May 1st 2004, I went to Canadas Wonderlands special opening with the Royal Bank. Heres how my day went....

We got to the park around 10 after 10 and ran right to the new Tomb Raider coaster. We had a 45 min wait. The line was soooo long. It left the line up area and went right in to the main pathway! Well, the theming was pretty cool, not as much as i excpected but oh well. This ride was extreamly underestimated. For only going 23 mph, it sure packs a punch. The inversions make it feel like your floating and are going to fall out. The rapid turns are a bit on the bumpy side but over all an awesom ride! 9/10

Next we took a ride on the only HUSS Jump 2 on the planet! SLEDGE HAMMER! It was pretty cool. We had a small wait, maybe 15 mins but not too bad. The ride was cool and worth the wait. One problem though. The park is going to get sued because of this ride! The seats are elevated to high off the ground so when people are getting out of their seats they fall flat on their faces. I saw 3 people do this when exiting the ride. Not impressive. Overall 7/10

Next went ran to Vortex and of course like always had an enormous wait. 1 hour. Why did I wait? I could have done soo much more? Well its still one of my faves so i had to ride it. It was really cool and is still one of the best rides in the park! 9/10

Time for Sky Rider. Huge wait. Another hour. Well worth the wait. Front seat! Gotta love it! I love the feeling you get on that hop after the loop! Awesome air time!!! 8/10

LUNCH BREAK.........

Well after lunch we played a few games to let our stomaches settle. I won Wack A Mole of course and won a Fire Fighter Scooby Doo. Ahhh anyways.....

Then we took a spin on Dragon Fyre, right on the front! Almost no wait! It was pretty cool but no longer a fave. 7/10

Cliffhanger! Well, another hour. It was having some difficulties and only 1 gondola of 20 seats was operating which made the lines longer. I hurt my shoulder so i also didn't enjoy this ride like I usually do. 6/10

Finaly we all had the guts to take on DROP ZONE! Well what can I say? You get really nervous in the 45 min wait but god is it ever worth it. The view of the park was awesome and it was the highlight of my day! 10/10!

Shockwave. My first time on this one and it was cooooooool. I recomend everyone come to the park for this one. You don't know what direction your going. Its soo unpredictable yet so awesome! 9/10

Well one of my fave rides was about to become one of my least faves. Time for Top Gun, the bumpy beast of hell. Can you spell P-A-I-N! It hurt .... ALOT! My ears were throbing and red when I got off. 5/10

Well, time for my fave Flat in the park, PYCLONE!!! IT WAS AWESOME AS ALWAYS. I LOVE HOW YOU FLOAT AT ITS PEAK HIEGHT! AWESOME!!!!!! Not much of a wait, 5 mins. Went on twice! 10/10

Last ride of the day was Tomb Raider The Ride once again. Had to get one last ride on the new coaster before leaving. Had just as much fun as the first time. This must be a hell of alot better than the FLYING COASTER @ SFEG cuz, this thing is really cooooooool! once again a 9/10.

I'm going back to PCW later on this year. And I hope it was as cool as this day wuz!!!!!!!

It's nice to see a favourable comment on Tomb Raider. I'll be back next Saturday with my thoughts on the ride, although I'm not too optimistic.

Your enthusiasm about Tomb Raider gives me a bit more hope that others have given. I am so excited I get to go on Sunday. Does Anyone know if Cliffhanger will have the jets on? I think its going to be like 24 degrees.

But the rides somehow busted everytime i go.Last time a whole row was broken.

It doesn't sound like you did an aweful lot because of painfully long lines. It seems like everything was 45 minutes +. Are the lines always that long? That almost brings down my spirits and enthiusiasm about going next month. Almost.

how can you rate Vortex and Tomb Raider the same? That's blasphamy.

On another note...don't go to CP or any other park in the summer. Ever. If you think a 45min-1hr line is long, you'll cry when see what they get like. I waited 6 hours for TTD in the cold and rain, DO NOT complain about waiting in long boring lines. PCW lines will get to be well over 2hrs in the summer, if you go and hate it, don't say you weren't warned.

My mind has now changed from Tomb Raider. I thought it was a very unike experience the first time i went on it. Now its just mediocre.
