Sfmm 5/21

This is my Trip Report for Six Flags Magic Mountain.

We started out the day by heading over to Goliath. We got there and there was a very short line for it. We waited about 30 minutes in line before we got to the station. Then we had the line for the front of the train. Good thing that they were running 2 trains because if they weren't it would have taken a lot longer. Finally my turn. A great first ride. The only bad thing about my ride was that I hit a bug after the second drop.
Goliath 10/10

After our ride on Goliath we headed on over to Scream! What a line. We must have waited like 5 minutes. Scream was going 2 train operation so it went quickly. We waited in line for the front and it did not disappoint. The only bad thing was that in the front your head gets jogged a bit and your ears hurt for a minute or 2 after you get off.
Scream! 9/10

We got off Scream! and decided to go to Riddler's Revenge. What a line. We were in line for at least 2 hours. The ride was a good one because I got the seat all the up and my legs dangled most of the ride. It sucked because RR was only running on 1 train so it took forever. We waited about 45 minutes for just the station.
7/10

By the time we got out of RR it was 4:00, so we headed to Mooseburger for some lunch. MMMMM, such good food there. I got the Mazies Favorite, and boy was it good.
Lunch 10/10

Ok, my bro decided to go to Scream! to ride it a few times and I decided to make my way to some other rides. And my dad and our friend went and talked while following my bro.

I made my way on over to Viper. A definate must for any trip to Magic Mountain. I walked on. No line. I got a front row seat in 1 train. Viper was going 2 trains. Yay, maybe that is why the line was so short. I got a good ride on that.
Viper 10/10

I decided to go see if Deja Vu was open but instead made my way back to Psyclone. I hated it! I had it loose because I knew it hurt a little bit. At the bottome of the first drop it latched and I was in pain the rest of the ride. It was fun at the end when the train was going into the station. I was yelling at people in line saying, "Don't go on it, you're wasting your time!" Burn it, burn the ride!" Oh man was it fun yelling at the ride. It made the ops fee stupid for working on it.
Psyclone 0/10

After the waste of my time ride, I headed over to see how the line was on Goliath. Only about a 10 minute wait but my bro called and I went to meet up with him. From there we were walking and he decided to go to the Spin out and I went on it chasing after him. I hated it. I felt sick after I went on it. After that we did that virtual reality thing, which was also a waste of my time. After that we were going to head over towards Deja Vu.

Deja Vu! it was open. Oh man, what a ride. We waited in line for about 30 minutes. They were getting a train off every 5 mintues. Good job SFMM for actually having Deja Vu open. We got in the line for the front. I would say this was the best ride of the day. I wanted to go on it again, but unfortunately it was getting late.
Deja Vu 15/10

From Deja Vu we headed to Viper. Again no wait. We got in the front after 1 train came and went. My friend from Colorado loved it. After that we had to go because it was only 15 minutes to closing.
Viper 10/10

Thats my report.

Good trip report, but seemed like a bad trip. What was the condition of X and the fact that Riddler's Revenge was running only one train is pathetic! The ride has been there for quite a few years and they can't get at least two trains running on it? There is no reason to make guests wait two hours for a coaster when it should be considerably less. I think SFMM should focus on their customer service and also their maintenance on their rides.

There was about a 5 hour wait for X. It was all the way out to the bridge, the line was. I am not going to wait that long for 1 ride on a coaster. Why would I wait that long to ride when I can go to all the other coasters and have only a 15 minute wait for them.

5 Hours?? Are you for real? Thats way to long. I waited an hour for X but i would never wait any longer than 2 hours. The longest i have ever waited for a coaster was TTD for 4 hours. I will never wait that long again.

I waited about 2 hours for X. Well worth it in my book. It's a one-of-a-kind coaster and unless you get to go back to SFMM, you missed out on a great ride.

What time of day is the best time to wait for X? I can't get there right when the park opens. We are going on Friday May 28th. The park is open till 10. Do the lines get shorter as the night goes on? Does Six Flags let you jump in line right before the park closes and let you wait it out? Please let me know thanks.

It isn't the park's decision to have it operating with a single train. Believe me, if they could, they would - of course under the circumstances that they have enough staffing to do so. CAL OSHA detained The Riddler's Revenge, Viper, Batman The Ride from multiple train operations when they felt that maintenance logs and inspections were not filled out properly. I'm assuming that until they get the approval from the next visit, those rides will remain in single train operation.

Wow, how do you know this? That's impressive. Do you know if the trains will be running for memorial day weekend?

I had read that on Screamscape and wasn't sure if it was true, if it is fact true, thanks for confirming it. Although, I have to disagree, if SFMM didn't fill out the paperwork, it would still be partly their fault. I think SFMM should've taken care of any paperworks and/or other stuff that's needs to be taken care of so that the rides/coasters can run at efficient capacity.

As for X having a 5 hour wait!, that's ridiculous. I don't know what the problem is there, but that's a shame. I can see a ride like X, TTD and some of the other major coasters in this country having extremely long lines in it's first year, but while it's hard to believe this would've been X's 4th season had it opened without problem. Even as it is, it is the rd operating season for X. I can't believe that many people will be waiting that long for a coaster, especially those who may have been on it already a few times. I'd want to wait...possibly because I've never been there and obviously never been on X, but I wouldn't wait 5 hours for a coaster that I've been on already. But that's just me and my opinion.

It is never a good time to ride X. The ride is always long no matter what time you go. They will let you wait the line out until everyone has gone but at the end of the night the line is like 3 hours long.

I live in CA. Only 1:30 minutes away, I can go there anytime and I have rode on X.

Hit SFMM today 5/27. Overall, fairly uncrowded, although the numerous coasters running one train had long waits, despite the short appearing lines. Here is a coaster rundown; I hit them all!:
Viper: 2 trains, walk on.
Revolution: 2 trains, walk on.
X: 2 trains 50-60 minutes, about 5 minute dispatches, might as well of had 1 train with the stacking going on
Deja Vu: 40 minutes, about 5 minute dispatches
Psyclone: 1 train, 5 minutes, very painfull
Ninja: 2 trains. walk on
Goldrusher: 1 train, walk on
Riddlers Revenge: 1 train, 1 hour
Batman: 1 train, 1 hour
Goliath: 2 trains: 0-5 minutes
Colossus: 1 train, 40 minutes
Scream: 1 train, 50 minutes
Superman: closed, go figure
Flahback: closed, go figure

Overall, good day. Wish they would get their rides up to snuff. 1 Train on so many premium rides is unacceptable, especially entering the unofficial beginning of summer this weekend.
