SFGAm May 23rd

The day started out with me processing my free seasons pass that I won in the No Limits contest from this lovely site that everyone should participate in. After processing the pas, me and my dad hit Viper, which had a very short line. After riding Viper in the back 3 times, we hit Raging Bull 4 times in the back, because it also had a short line. Afterwards, I rode Revolution while my dad watched. Revolution must have been on the wuss setting or something, because it was a terrible ride. Afterwards, me and my rode the American Eagle many times. I rode it backwards while my dad went forwards and we raced. Red side won as usual. Next I rode Vertical Velocity (short line again) and then Déjà vu, which had a 15 minute for the front. My dad hates backwards rides so he did not ride those two. We then continued in our loop around the park and rode Batman 5 times, twice in the front. The front row had a 5 minute wait for it. Afterwards, we went over to investigate Rajun Cajun and the Mardi Gras area. While we were staring at it, my noticed that they had the chain running and one car on the track. So we hung around for 20 minutes until they decided to do a test run. The ride functioned fine, and much to my amazement, the cars DID NOT SPIN the ride. No spinning happened at all! I could have sworn it was a spinning wild mouse. Can they turn this feature off? All of the Mardi Gras flat rides were open except for King Chaos, which has a completely made queue and the pool of water it’s next to was filled. King Chaos will probably start operating very soon. Well anyways, after watching Rajun do a circuit we rode Superman 5 times, because the line wasn’t starting on the stairs. WE then hit all of the coasters again about 5 times each, and then went home. The lesson learned here is to take a trip to Great America when there is a tornado watch and large chance that thunderstorms will occur. This keeps everyone away from the park and in turn results in no lines whatsoever. I’m very sorry this was so random, I’m try to disguise this as an English paper in Study Hall. If you have any questions post them here or PM me.

Sounds like a great time that you had. I'm also glad to hear that Deja Vu was running. I was worried because in an earlier trip report (5/18-by Binary Static) it wasn't running that day. From what you said, Ragun' Cajun never actually opened? It's weird if it didn't and was still doing test runs and also no spinning. It was running for the media day on the 20th. (See below) Hopefully it will open soon. It most likely will along with King Chaos.

[Edit] I've included the link from the Sun-Times, it was a very short article-

I'm very surprised it wasn't running too. They had a bunch of important looking mechanic/engineer people staring at one car while it made the circuit.

Maybe the Ragin Cajun cars can be locked so that they don't spin and they were just testing other aspects of the ride...

Deja Vu sees me coming -- everytime I go to a park that has one it's down all day...
