As I was making a trip to Detroit, I decided to make a detour to Cedar Point for some coastering. Once again, mixing business with pleasure is always nice.
As I got to the park, I noticed lack of cars in the parking lot. I parked on a second row from the main entrance. I arrived there at 9:50 AM. I noticed a few rides already had people in them. I thought the park opened at 10:00 AM.
Anyway, I headed directly toward MF. I have not been on this ride since 2001, so that I figured this was the one I should start the day with. I waited about 5 minutes for the ride. I heard many people on this board warning people about turing people away. I was able to get on without any problem. (5' 8", 205 lbs, 36" waist, stocky build) I had about 4 inches of seat belt leftover. There were people who were quite larger than myself getting on the ride as well.
MF (4 times before 11:00 AM) - I really missed this ride. I rode this about 15 times in 2000 and 2001, but it was much better this time around. I also noticed air time on this ride. I did not remember getting them in 2001. Specifically on the first drop (floater), the hill after the pretzel turn around, and the bunny hop next to the station were the places I had air time. My seats were 1:2, 6:2, 9:1, 9:2. (I decided to put this ride into my top 4 steel again.)
After 4 MF rides, I decided to go to TTD. Here I had to wait 30 minutes before riding 2:1.
TTD - This ride was not as thrilling as last year for me. I know the launch speed is the same, but did not get the same thrill as before. Maybe, I got used to the launch when I rode Xcelerator 12 times at KBF.
After TTD, I headed over to Magnum. I could not believe that this ride was a walk on. I got on the front without any wait.
Magnum - My favorite coaster looked it needed a paint job. 1:1 did not give me as much air time as 1:2 or 6:2, but this is a great ride. I noticed a trim brake right before the pretzel. I do not remember this brake. (Can people comment on this?) I had 7 walk on rides.
I headed back to TTD since the wait did not look bad at all. It took us 20 minutes to get to the station. Then there was about 10 minute delay. Two people lost lunch on the ride and they had to clean up. There was another delay because some one fainted in the station WHILE WAITING and had to get help. (This person turned out fine.) I did not notice any break down of this ride on this day.
After TTD ride, I got to Wicked Twister for a ride then to Raptor. Here I ran into CHIP (The moderator) and talked about Coasters. (It was nice meeting you, Chip!

) I could not believe that this was yet another walk on. After 2 Raptor rides, I headed over to MF again. The wait was little longer this time (30 minutes). Still, this is a great ride. I got on the line for another go around. 6 MF rides in all.
I headed back over to Raptor. Chip was still riding this. We got on Raptor 5 times. They were all walk ons.
It was about 5 PM. I knew I had to head over to Detroit since I had two meetings including a presentation next day. I said good bye to Chip and left the park. 6 MF, 7 Raptor, 7 Magnum, 2 TTD and 1 Wicked Twister rides in 7 hours. Not bad considering this was a part of my business trip. Although I had to get ready for the meetings in the evening, it was well worth the trip.
