PKD and Hershey Park

We are planning a trip (not a business trip this time ) to Baltimore next week and my daughter and I are going to PKD and Hershey Park. I have not been to either park in over 10 years! We will be there on Thursday and Friday. Since PKI is our home park, I know that PKD has some duplicate rides. Is it better to go to Hershey on Thursday or Friday? Is Stormrunner running (ha!) without much problem? TTD, which is a similar ride, had some problems last year in the beginning. What kind of crowds should we expect? Thanks in advance.

Storm Runner doesn't have any major crap spells like TTD did last year. I'm not sure what the crowds will be like on those days, but here are the don't miss rides:

PKD: Volcano, Hypersonic XLC, Grizzly, Drop Zone...and I really liked the Space Surfer ride (Chance Aviator). FoF runs with a very heavy trim...so expect to be disappointed, because the second half doesn't compare to PKI's, it's much slower.

Hersheypark: Storm Runner, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Great Bear, Roller Soaker (if you like to get wet), Flying Falcon...I'm a sucker for Huss Condors..., Wild Mouse.

PKD is a great park. Currently PKD has 12 coasters. The only coasters that are similar here are Rebel Yell (racer @ PKI) and Anaconda (arrow custom looper). All the launch coasters get lines and since schools are out down here lines will be about an hour for the launch coasters. All the other coasters are walk-ons with maybe a 5 minute wait sometimes.

Drop Zone gets long lines but with the great capacity it shouldn't take more then 15 minutes if the whole queue is full. If you want alot of great photos then definalty go up the Eiffle Tower.

PKD added seat belts onto there woodies this year so airtime has been killed....

ALL of PKD's rides are overbraked. FoF is boring after the MCBR and heavy (as said above). Ricochet (Mack Wild Mouse) Is boring IMO because it has too many brakes. Volcano is great. You must ride it. Back seat is the best.

Hypersonic got a new set of trains (yet again) this year. It was closed when I went this year but people that have been this year say its sucks and very rough. They removed some brakes so I would advise bracing yourself.

Well hope that helps and if you want more info on PKD then go to pkdplace.com

The Grizzly is (was?) one of my favorite woodies. Volcano and Hypersonic are the ones I am looking forward to. I was at PKD for Anaconda opening. I did get wet on the first drop. The water splash on the coaster was not expected. It will be interesting to see how the park changed since 1991. I was also there for the Grizzly opening in 1982. I cannot believe how much time has passed.
