Talking Cedar Point 6/1 (Something that has never happened in a TR)

On our way to Cedar Point. Me, my g/f Jena, her best friend Holly, and my best friend Bob all packed into a Chrysler Cirrus with a little boombox for a three hour + drive.

Made it to the park at 9:40. Got Jena's Season pass processed and got Holly a ticket. Bob and I already had Season Passes from earlier trip. Step through gates at 10:10.

Warm up on Wicked Twister. Great start seeing as the two girls hadn't been on Dragster yet and it was our goal to get them on it. Walked onto the back two rows. Great ride.

We talked them into going on Dragster. Jena was more nervous than I had ever seen her. Waited about 15 minutes for middle of train 2. Awesome ride as usual.

Headed over to Magnum. Walk into the station. At 90% of parks this ride would be the signature, but only at CP is it a walk on. Sat in the middle of the train and had one of our better rides on this lately.

Girls wanted to do Paddlewheel excursions, so we obliged. It was cute, kinda corny. We then hit Woodstock Express which has become a must-hit after my great on-ride photo last trip.

Walked over to Millennium Force. Running very well with three trains. They are now making "questionable" riders try the test seat before getting in line. I agree with this idea, but the excecution is horrible. One ride op is doing both the checking and the letting people in. They need two ops there now. After a 15 min. wait, we got on car four on Yellow train. Running pretty as ever.

Headed up to the front to ride Raptor. Our longest wait of 45 min for front. Worth every minute. I love this ride, particularly the mid-right seat.

We headed over to Dispatch Master Transport. Walked into the building, saw the line, and walked right back out. It was getting close to 2:00, so we headed back to Dragster to grab a Freeway, with a quick stop at Cedar Downs. I so won!

Grabbed a Freeway for 7-8, which worked out really well. Grabbed some nachos from the Grandstand and sat to watch the "Dragstrip" as Holly kept calling it.

We hit up Magnum again, but this time in 1.2 and 1.3. I will not ride up there anymore. The ejector air is too intense to the point of pain in the front. We found the middle much more enjoyable.

After, we headed over to Millennium, which was down for technical reasons. We rode Wicked Twister, again a walk on for back row! After that, Bob won my girlfriend a stuffed dog. I tried, but lost.

We went to check in at the Ramada Inn. Went to dinner at The Brown Derby Roadhouse. Now for the part I've never seen in a Trip Report! I PROPOSED TO JENA at dinner and she said yes. YEAH!

Got back to the Point and it was pouring down rain. We chilled in Donut Time where I had a less than desirable Hot Coco. After riding the train back to Mean Streak, we found out it was down for mechanical reasons. Catching the train back, MF was also down! Holly and I rode Mantis, which banged my head much more than I remember but didn't hurt my legs as much.

We used our Freeway stamp for Dragster. We cut about a 45 minute line only to have a 10 min breakdown hiccup. We rode second car after contemplating a front row wait. I love this ride.

Planning the last two hours of the Point, we decided to go to the front and hit the calf danglers again. I was so happy about the fact I am engaged at this point I'm going psycho.

Waited 3 trains for front row on Wicked Twister. It seemed we got much higher on the 3rd and even 5th pass than before. Any ideas or agreements?

Next was a front row and a back row ride on Raptor. It's like night and day, the difference between the two. I like front better, but I've grown to really appreciate the rear.

With time for two more rides, we headed to MF and it was down again!! I've never seen it down so much. We hopped on Magnum (middle) one more time. Much better.

Bob and I got in line for Dragster while the girls hit Paddlewheel Excursions once more. Back Row of Train 2 after about a 25 min. wait. This ride is slowly gaining on Millennium Force as my favorite!

The girls watched our ride and then we headed for the exits. Overall, it was an amazing day at the Point. I am slightly biased as the best thing that could have happened to me did (except for a front seat rollback, but I have had that happen before).

whew, k, I'm okay now.
having had a rollback, I'd have to say getting engaged to the right person, at a park, would be much better. maybe....

Sweet dude! That is awesome...

You should have done it on TTD or something.... but at the park is still pretty memorable.

on TTD? hrm... that'd be kinda difficult I'd imagine it's hardly long enough to scream out "will you marry me?" hehe
I know of some people who've gotten married in the park. I'd probably prefer to get married on the beach there. It's cliche, but what can I say? I'm a chick, and a hopeless romantic to boot...

Hmm... actually, on TTD right as you pull into the launch position would make an awesome time to propose. Just as you (hoepfully) get the yes you get shot into the stratosphere.

I dont think Id want to ever get married on a roller coaster. I mean, it just seems so uncomfortable and...i dunno, just not the place to get married. Id even go so far as to get married on a beach. But not a roller coaster.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It truly was a very memorable day. We are waiting until we are both out of college before we get married, so it will be a long engagement. Also, she isn't as big a coaster nut as I, so a Cedar Point wedding is slightly out of the question.
