| | | Coaster Con XXVII I'm in ACE and am going to my very first coaster convention at CP and GL this month. I have only gone to one ACE event and that was Coater Mania last year. The problem with that event was that the ERT wasn't good at all. There were so many people there that it was no different than being at the park early and riding your favorite ride one time. I only got one ride on MF during the so called "ERT".
Has anyone ever been to an ACE coaster convention? If so, what were the ERT's like? I could also use a few tips......when to be there in the morning, if the the food's good at the lunch's/breakfast's, etc.
Thanks in advance. |

| | Well... don’t be late to anything (defiantly don’t be late to lunch or dinner, after all I firmly believe ACE means All you Can Eat). I had a lot of fun at last years Coaster Con. the ERT was great, but I’m guessing it will be somewhat like Coaster Mania. As for the food, that depends on the park, BGW's and PKD's food wasn’t too good; however the food at the banquet was decent. Anyway... It will be interesting to see how this year’s coaster con compares to last years. Oh and don’t expect too many of the ACE people to talk to you, most of them only talk to other 40 year old single ACE people who have been on 600+ coasters

| | | Oh yes, with videos and pics.
(By the way, how do you get film from a video camera onto a computer?) |

| | | Using a firewire cable running from the camera to your computer you dowload the video (parts you want) into a video editing program such as adobe premeire and edit that down to what you ne and convert the avi file to whatever web file you need.
Of course if your using analog you must have a digital breakout box.
Wow this is odd. I come here when I get bored of the filmmaking boards and vice versa. never thought I would be posting a filmmaking post on here! |

| | | Well some camera's have usb cables that are slower but you probably have more USB ports than firewire, if any.

| | SFGAm Guru is right its probably more likely for you to set it up using USB (I had to add a firewire card to my comp for video editing). Also cannonballer mentioned Adobe Premiere. I have to say that its by far the best video editing program I have ever used, although it might not be what you want if your just starting out with video editing. And for the real reason I made this post... Can we please get back on the topic of Coaster Con. If you have any questions about video editing please ask in a thread in General talk or in the computer questions thread. Or even better might be to go to SingleReel.com and ask; they know what they are talking about over there.

| | | Last years CoasterCon was awesome...plenty of ERT (no waiting at all), and the food was good, but it was BGW and PKD which have pretty good food to start with. I've never been impressed with CP's food service, but they way do a good job on the group events. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
