2005 road trip...any tips?

We are planning a big road trip for next summer, planned around the need to check out Kingda Ka! We did the same thing a couple of years ago, but west, catching every park we could. This time its a big east trip. We always get Cedar and SF passes, so I want to squeeze all them in that we can!

So anyway, these are the parks on our list so far. If you have tips about any of them, best places to stay and such--I'd really appreciate your help! And please-let me know of other parks we shouldn't miss!

1st park/starting point-Michigan's Adventure (did you know if you get your passes here, you don't need the Geauga add on?!)

Cedar Point
Geauga Lake
Dorney Park
SF Great Adv
SF New England
SF Darien Lake
SF America

Last park-SFKK, possibly Holiday World if time allows

(PKI won't be included, that is part of the annual April trip since they open earlier!)

In advance-thanks!

I'd drop darien lake for hershey. SFA has roar which is an awesome woodie, and iron eagle, which is one of the best flat rides i've ever been on. I'd go to SFA just for iron eagle.

If your not going to hershey cause its not covered by season passes, maybe consider PKD. If i remember correctly its only about 2 hours down the road from SFA (I might be wrong its been awhile) and its well worth it. Its an amazing park. If its during the week I'm almost tempted to say you could do PKD and SFA in the same day.

I would add Kennywood & Idlewild to that list if you have time.
Kennywood is located in West Mifflin pa, and Idlewild in located in Ligonier Pa

According to last year's Microsoft's Streets and Trips....1 hour 36 minutes from SFA to PKD. So just for the variety of parks, I would say try and hit PKD unless it is just further south on the east coast than you really care to go, but it is in my opinion as worth it if you can squeeze it in or something, and it really isnt that far from SFA (only listed as 100.2 miles).

Then again, there is always Busch Gardens which is only about an hour further to the south from the PKD area....but given the width of your road trip as it stands now, you may want to plan one next year or something for a South Eastern Road trip and work your way down. Who knows.

Thanks for the tips. However, "he" is a she!

I will plan to add PKD if it might be possible to do it in the same day! That is a GREAT tip! And cutting Darien Lake should add time too. We kinda thought, we'd do it since it would be a freebie with our passes. But if it isn't worth the time-forget it. I guess I should have mentioned-we are intentionally skipping the PA parks, since we are going back there to visit friends at another time.
