| Trip to Orlando (Dec 18 ~ Dec 25) - Finally I got to ride a B&M!!! It's been too many years... At last I finally got to ride a B&M coaster! I live in Toronto, where my home park is PCW and my parents isn't really willing to drive for several hours (nearest decent park = Cedar Point, but border crossing is troublesome)
It's on a Chinese tour group...
Day 1: The tour has 3 groups in total. My bus got late. Route: 401 -> 402, crossing border at somewhere north of Windsor. Had to wait forever (like 1.5 hours total) because we had to wait for 2 other buses to pass the border, and many people aboard the bus require visas (photos and fingerprinting, taking forever)... Stopped at somewhere in Tenessee for a night at a hotel
Day 2: Tenesee -> orlando - Tour makes a stop at the coke place at Atlanta but my family didn't bother paying $8 each person to go in...
Day 3: Epcot + Magic Kingdom
Epcot:
Test track: Fun ride, and got my mom to ride it! Single rider queue varied from 15 to 40 minutes (the 40 min one was due to technical problems) Gotta love the single rider queue!
Mission Space: Finally a motion simulator that does a decent job at simulating physics using a centifuge-like machine! Hmm what's the point of the stick? Also played the triton vs orion game thingy after the ride
Some 3D film (Test Track's surprise fastpass points to this thing) that involves some sort of award ceremony: Didn't like it though...
Magic Kingdom (the night's temperature is the arctic cold, getting close to 0 celcius so much shorter lines):
Space Mountain: Rode both tracks. Too dark to see the track though... Pulled my mom onto it (because the stats are somewhat tame) but she was really scared from it (too dark)... I rode it 2 times in total
Big thunder mountain railroad: Theming = wow, and much more fun than space mountain! Rode 3 times and got my mom to ride it once! Lines are very quick, less than 15 mins
Splash mountain: BOO. It's just a friggin it's a small world, only with a friggin 15 meter tall drop (and doesn't even make you wet, and I will use meters for height to show the uninterestingness of the ride)! A ride time of 15 minutes is way too long. Walk-on for the standby line
Day 4: Animal Kingdom + MGM Studios
Animal Kingdom:
It's tough to be a bug: A LOT better than the 3D film at Epcot.
Lion King show: Nice costumes and music too
Safari: 40 minutes wait, but this owns.
Some river rapid ride: We got soaked! The standby queue is a walk-on
Primeval Whirl spinning coaster: Had to wait like 30 minutes to get on it... Looks like it's the disney ride with the lowest standards of theming!
Didn't had time to ride Dinosaur...
MGM:
I just went on 2 rides: RNRC, and Tower of Terror. My mom didn't went on either of these. MGM is really crowded today, and both rides are getting hour long lines...
Tower of Terror: This completely owned Drop Zone at PCW! And i bought a black Tower of Tower t-shirt too! I have now crowned this ride as the most scariest thrill ride overall. I rode it 2 times. 1:05 hour wait 1st time, ~50 min wait 2nd time
Rock n Roller Coaster: My first launched coaster! Bought the T-shirt with all the stats on the back, and also as a tribute to Vekoma for various things. Rode it 2 times too. ~1:15 hour wait 1st time, 35 min wait 2nd time
Day 5: Seaworld
Journey to Atlantis: Rode 4 times. This owns Magic Mountain's Splash Mountain in every aspect. And the 2nd coaster drop is totally hidden, but you can see the excessively banked track after the drop has started! On the first lift before the door, how come my first 2 rides are filled with mist while the later 2 rides have no mist showing the chain lift very clearly? And the T-shirt is really cool and bought it!
Kraken: at last I FINALLY GET TO RIDE A B&M FOR MY VERY FIRST TIME! Whored it, 6 times total, with one ride at the front (waited 22 mins for front row) The inversions you actually feel you're upside down! And I also experienced some true floater airtime! Bought the black T-shirt, cool pic and marking my first ride on a B&M! Lines are always short (never over 20 minutes for non-front rows)
Day 6: Universal
Universal Studios
Revenge of the Mommy: Many surprises, but the track transitions are pretty rough, and I can only see very little bit of the track! Just rode it 1 time
Island of Adventure
Some tower ride: Absolutely worst freefall tower EVER! Reason: Drops failed to carry out freefall (It made freefall for about 0.5 seconds, then suddenly slow the downward acceleration, totally destroying the freefall experience. it's just go up and down gently, no thrill. Shame for not meeting anywhere close to gravity's 9.8m/s^2).
Incredible Hulk: I didn't kinda have much good feeling from this, aside from the launch... Rode 3 times, but didn't buy T-shirt
Dueling Dragons: This ride owns too! Really nice queue line theming! Rode fire dragon 3 times and ice dragon 3 times (1 on each side at night) But when the sky got dark they put one of the trains from each side away from the circuit...! I didn't have to end up in a middle seat (single riders!). Bought the T-shirt with the stats on the back! Longest queue = 30 minutes (not counting front row). Got 2 front row rides on fire and 1 front row on ice!
Day 7: Outlet mall + Disney Downtown.
Blah.
Day 8: Orlando -> Toronto - The way back home is by an Air Canada Airbus A319 plane. Orlando is raining big time. Cruising altitude 37,000'. Plane got delayed for nearly 2 hours. I sat on the window seat on the back of the plane. Few minutes after takeoff the tublence is really severe and shaked a lot for a while. The rain cloud is so thick that we reach our crusing altitude I still can't see a thing at all off the window! Just before landing I almost saw my home from the plane!
Favorites overall: Test track, Big thunder mountain, RNRC, Tower of Terror, Journey to Atlantis, Kraken, Dueling Dragons
