Ok... so now come the crazy part... on the sat. I am going to go to SFDL for a few hours then go to Sea Breeze in the afternooon.. But looking at RCDB and mapquest.. Martin's Fantasy Island is only like 30 more miles from SFDL... SO.... I was going to try to go from Aurora, NY to MFI.. spend and hour or so at MFI then going to SFDL for 2 or 3 hours.. and then to SB... all in the same day.. I will go to SFDL and SB.. but I really want to try and get MFI too.. so does anyone have any tips? |

OK, here you go, this can be done, esp. on May 15. Martin's doesn't open 'till Memorial Day weeken, or at least it hasn't in the past 10 years. Its a shame too, the Silver Comet is a hidden beauty. Since the other two are an hour- 1.5 hrs away, they can easily be done in a spring day (assuming Seabreeze is open, I don't know). Start at Seabreeze because it is likely to close earlier. Do the two coasters and a couple of the park's assortment of flats (which is good, but not great). Then drive over to DL. I would head over to where Superman and Predator are and do them first. Superman is fun, not great though, but Predator sucks. Do it only if you want the "credit", because there is a reason that it's in the bottom of Mitch's poll. From there, you can head over to Boomerang if you wish, then to Viper, which isn't too bad for an old Arrow looper, once the world record holder for inversions, and now its fairly rough though fun at night, plus the golf course setting is cool. Then head back around the lake for the SLC, which again, do for credit only.. well, since that is all, I would then go back and do whatever you liked, which will probably be Superman. Other than that, the park's flat ride selection sucks, the only think I enjoyed was the Huss Top Spin, which usually thrills me anyways. Have fun, good luck, and watch your speed on the NYS Interstates |

I looked on all 3 parks site and all will be open the 15th. SeaBreeze is open at 12pm. SFDL at 1030am and MFI at 11am. So I was going to go to MFI first .. and SB last as I have to end closer to SB then the other 2. But thanks for the tips. I have been to SFDL. In 1999.. and it doesnt seem like much has changed.. lol |

Hmm, I am suprised, unless I was totally oblivious to them opening (Mem. Day always seemed to get publicized as the opening). Depending on how much time you spend at Darien Lake, it may not be possible to do all three. MFI - arrive @ 11 Spend only two hours, leave @ 1 Arrive at DL @ 1:30 Spend only four hours, leave @ 5:30 Arrive at SB @ 6:30, park closes at 7 I guess you could stay less than 4 hours at Darien Lake, but I don't know how the crowds will be. I went on opening day in '98 (was on the first ride for Boomerang )and it was a warm day, which brought a lot of locals out, plus there was a band competition, so there were hundreds of obnoxious little middle school kids. They may still have the band comp, but your best bet will probably be hope for a cool, cloudy day. You could balance it out and spend 2 hour at each park I think, if you are cool with that. Oh, you are right, nothing had changed, except the ProSlide Tornado and the Top Spin. Three opening days in one day, sheesh, Ive never been able to pull that off |

Well SFDL I really just want to take a ride on SROS thats about it.. and I have a seasonpass so it will just be $7.00 to park or whatever.. So I could be done with it in 2 hours 3 at the most. I really want to ride Comet at MFI.. but I think I might end up dropping that park. |

SFDL has FastPass, but not Qbot.
