| | | First Ever Trip to Cedar Point Me and a couple of friends will be making our first ever trip to Cedar Point this year. Our plans are to go to the park for 2 days...Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22. How are these days as far as attendence? Also, any other Cedar Point tips for that time of year would be appreciated! Thanks

| | | I wouldn't be able to tell you about those days in particular, but i musrt ask as to where you are staying? Depending on how many of you there are, I'd recommend Hotel Breakers (or Sandcastle Suites if you have more than 4). You want to take advantage of the ERT, if you get the chance. |

| | | Ive stayed at all the CP hotels.. Breakers is nice with the TGI Fridays inside and close to the park, Sandcastle is ok, but a good walk to the park.. Lately Ive been staying at Lighthouse Cabins, like you said, they are nice to sit out along the lake at night, have a drink, and the cabins feel like home. My other advice, since its your first time going, dont waste too much time waiting for dragster if its down, go see the rest of the park and enjoy it. |

| | | Those days may be a little crowded in terms of attendence, but I really dont think it will be too bad. Staying at one of the resorts definently has its advantages. The exclusive ride time is awesome. If you are on a tight budget, I would recommed Breakers Express. It is a nice place to stay for cheap.

| | | Does ERT - exclusive ride time, just mean that they let u in to the park 30 min before the general public?
Are the rides open at this time, or is it just so u can go and stand first in line for one ride?

Last year, you could ride Dragster, Raptor or Millennium Force for ERT. If one of those rides were down, then CP would open Magnum or Mantis.
You can either ride those rides during ERT (which is highly recommended, shortest lines are usually during Joe Cool) or stand and wait for another ride to open. We would usually hit Dragster, then go to Millennium and ride that 3 or 4 times and then hit Raptor, all within that half hour. You can then go to Wicked and not wait in a line.
Just my opinion.... |

Just my opinion.... | That sounds great. My friends are worried that doing Dragster and MF first will make the rest of the coasters seem inferior to what they really are, but I doubt that is really the case.

| | | Ok, there are six of us going and I've checked out the prices for 3 nights with the Package and it worked out to somthing like this:
Lighthouse Cabins: $416
Hotel Breakers: $452 (3 Queen Bed) or $393 (2 Queen/Pullout)
Breakers Express: $199
Sandcastle: $353
Since this is kind of a once in a year trip, price isn't too big of an issue, and seeing as how there are 6 of us, I don't think Breakers Express would be very comfortable for a 3 nights stay. That narrows it down to the other 3. The cabins look really nice to me, but the picture on their website makes them look pretty small. How exactly are they layed out?
All I know is grilling some wings and burgers and having a few beers (This trip os for my 21st B-Day) on a lake sounds pretty damn good to me!

| | | Also it may be hard to get a cabin. I know last year they were selling out 2-3 months ahead for good dates.

| | | Those days will not be very crowded, even though most weekends at CP are. Many of the metro-Cleveland-Detroit-Columbus schools have not let out yet, so you'll still avoid all of those summer CP weekenders. I wouldn't stay at Breakers, don't have to take my word, but it isn't worth your money. Stay at a hotel on nearby Milan Rd in Sandusky, much cheaper, and the accomadations are identical. Forget Great Wolf Lodge, and don't listen to anybody who tells you to go there. It isn't worth your time or money, you and your friends are not 7 years old, and please keep in mind why you are traveling all the way to Sandusky . . . here's a hint, it isn't for a water slide.
