Six Flags Magic Mountain Planning Trip (April 2005)

Hello,

I am planning to be in the LA area from April 16th to April 23rd, 2005, and I was planning on spending one day at Magic Mountain. What day of the week would be the best to go? I am looking for a day that is less crowded and with all the coasters open. Sun hours are 10-8pm. Mon, Tue, Wed, & Thu hours are 10-6pm. Fri hours are 10am-1am (Hallelujah Jubilee). On Friday, because of the Hallelujah Jubilee, I would get the most hours, but will it be crowded all day or just at night?

I have never been to Magic Mountain before, but I have read for the past couple of years about how bad it’s there. I'm from PA and have been to Six Flags Great Adventure. I know and have experienced the down sides of Six Flags: long lines, coasters down, poor customer service, etc. I know its not Disney or Cedar Fair, but will I be disappointed? I don’t want to wait in line for more than an hour for each ride (one or two ok, but not all). Any other advice would be helpful also.

Thanks

// correction - April 22nd is Hallelujah Jubilee

Any day during the week should be good since most schools have already had the spring break. Avoid Saturday like the plague!!!!! If you ever here of a shooting or riot in a cali park, they can usually be attributed to one of those "Latin <insert another word here>". If your just going for the coasters, then getting there at open and staying untill 6pm during the week will get you on everything and maybe some re-rides too.

I went in feb and didn't have a problem, I'm going again this wednesday, so I'll see how bad it is when there's actually a crowd. From what I've been reading lately, Knott's is worse (and that's not a compliment to SFMM either).

I was at Knott's on Sun 9/5/04 (day before Labor day). Too many 11 and under kids (thanks to $15 kid promo). After spending 4 days at Cedar Point in June 2005, and Dorney Park (my home town park w/ season pass), I was a little disappointed at Knott's. I just figured all Cedar Fair parks had high marks.

I just noticed that Fri April 22nd is Hallelujah Jubilee (christian music festival) 10am - 1am, not Latin Festival. Is all the rides open til 1am? Will it still be crowded? Will it just be crowded after 5pm?

^ It still will be packed, just less of a chance of gang violence. If you want to wait over an hour or two for most rides, I would go on that day.

^^cedarpointchic, My sister's school here in SoCal is on Spring Break April 3 - April 10 so if you go anytime after that, you should be good crowd wise.
