| | | CP in one day 6/7/05 So I made a thread about my attempted mission to ride every ride at Cedar Point in one day last season. The mission ended up being a failure but still one of my favorite memories from last year.
Having the full Tuesday off I descided to try again. With the addition of Maxair, not only would I have to achieve my goal, but I'd have to 1 up it from last year.
The day started early. A quick trip to Mcdonalds before hitting the park right on time for joe cool's ERT. Dragster opened right on time, and a great ride in the last open seat of the train. From there we headed strait for MF which was only a two train wait to get the last seat. With only one other option for ERT we headed strait for Maxair, which only took about 10 mins to get on the first load after the park opened to all guest.
Already ahead of last years attempt since I had MF and Dragster out of the way, my arrogance began to set in on the simplicity of the rest of the mission.
We began the front of the park as the rest of the rides started to open up. Disastor Transport knocked out early in the day with only about a 15 min wait while the tested. Followed by Wicked Twister which sadly was down. Hoping for the best that it would open later we headed back over towards MF to hit mantis before it got a annoyingly long midday line. On the way we hit Wildcat.
Smooth sailing so far. The longest line we had to wait in was still DT at 15 mins, and we already knocked out 5 of the 15 coasters they allow adults on, and Maxair. Would the mission be a success....
I'll try and update this tomorrow before work, and hopefully be done by the time I sleep tomorrow. I'm not trying to be supsenseful, I'm just really tired.

| | | Interesting. When you say "all the rides", you mean coasters and all flat rides and even including water rides, the train (both sides) and just about anything else there? If it was completely empty, I'd say it's possible but extremely difficult. If there's even the slightest crowds, it's almost impossible. But I'll read tomorrow or whenever to see how you did.

| | | Yup. All the rides they allow an adult to ride. Also I accidently left out Ocean Motion between DT and Mantis.
So there we were, just finished Mantis, and descided to knock out the train early, as that was one of the rides that foiled a previous attempt. Planned on taking the train round trip but descided to ride the non-water rides in the back of the park once we got to frontier town.
In a matter of 30-45 mins we rode Meanstreak, Cedar Creek, Antique cars, and the Waveswinger. Longest line of the bunch being Cedar Creek oddly enough. It was annoying cause the crew only had the first two cars open to seat riders, even after the line filled the platform. We lucked out when a group of friends let us ahead of them so they could all ride together.
Back on the train heading for the main midway.
We finished the laser show midway by riding Iron Dragon (5 min wait) and dodgems (10 min wait about) then took a ride on skyride to the front of the park. Very excited to finally see what the main garden was this year. I kept wondering as I would walk past it often, but couldn't tell until I rode Sky Ride.
After Skyride we started working the front of the park. Much to my suprise the lines weren't bad at all. In order we rode Midway Carosel, Demon Drop, Kiddie Kingdom Carosel, Troika, Space Spiral, Giant Wheel, Wicked Twister, and Chaos.
I was very happy to see they got Twister working, and the line was only about 10 mins. Demon Drop was pretty much a walk on which was the shocker to me cause usually its a long midday line, Giant wheel was a good 15-20 mins wait, and everything else was a 1 cycle wait.
Space Spiral was brutal. They really need to get some A/C pumping in that bad boy. I heard that the high of the day was over 100 degrees, and when we stepped out of Space Spiral it definately felt a lot cooler outside. Think I lost some lbs in there.
At this point we stopped in the emp cafe for some lunch and chocalate milk. I'd say it was around 3 O clock.
To Be Contiuned after lunch.
Edit:
After lunch we began making are way back to Raptor picking up the circulars and tamer rides on the way. Scrambler, Matterhorn, Cadillilac Cars, Cedar Downs, Turnpike Cars, Calypso, Blue Streak, and finally Raptor. The longest wait probably being Cadilliac Cars, followed by Raptor. Nothing was over 20 mins though. It was awesome how we were beating all the lines. A lot of the rides would get a really long line right after we left too.
I think a lot of people really miss out cause they skip some of these rides. I did back in 2000-2002 as a guest cause I was always about coasters, but now that I work here, and have takin the time to ride and appreciate all the rides, I realize what I was missin out on. Calypso is awesome, and if your with the right people you can have a blast on Cedar Downs. If you go to CP Do Not skip the smaller rides. They add soo much to the day.
Anyways, back onto skyride to take us back to the big fork in the road. This time we started heading down the Dragster side of the park. Didn't have to wait for either side of Power Tower, and once again once we left the line for the drop side got longer after we left. On the way to Super Himylaya (another great flat ride at CP) noticed Dragster was down, so I was glad we didn't have to worry about it.
Then just made out way to Camp Snoopy. Super Himilaya, Corkscrew, Magnum XL-200, Witches Wheel, and Paddle Wheel Excursions.
One of the most fun parts of the day. Camp Snoopy. As long as your willing to let yourself have fun and not be embaressed Camp Snoopy is soo much fun. As we made our way through Camp Snoopy we got to ride, Balloon Race, Lolli Swings, Camp Bus, and Woodstock all without anybody else cause it was dead in Camp Snoopy. Tilt-a-Whirl and Speedway both had one other person on it with us.
It was great on Lolli Swings we were pretending like we were scared out of our minds while the host was speiling and broke her concentration and she started laughing over the mic. Fun times to be had in Camp Snoopy.
Back tracked over to Monster, and then rode Both sides of Gemini. About a 5 min wait for monster, and a 1 train wait for both sides of Gemini. Monster is another ride I highly recommend not skiping.
Sat down for some park food at Happy Friar. Chili cheese fries are awesome! Expensive, but awesome and well worth it.
About this time we realized we had this mission in the bag. Only three rides remained. We descided that we would end our day standing on the bridge og Snake River, so we did the water rides order of how wet you get. Started with White Water, then Thunder Canyon, and finally Snake River Falls.
White Water was very relaxing cause at about this time (around 8-8:30) the sun was beginning to set on the bay. Very peaceful. Then we got drenched by one of the waterfalls on TC. Then to top it off we had a great ride on Snake River. As we rounded the corner to the drop we were looking right at the sun setting on the bay. Amazing View. As we walked to the splash zone on the bridge and got our front row seat of getting hit by that wave, we were quite ready to just sit down and relax for a bit.
The mission was a smashing success at about 8:45.

| | | Wow that's amazing. I wouldn't even attempt all those rides in one day. lol
Last time at CP we got all the coasters except for the kiddies, and I think we were pushing to do that.

| | | Wow. Good job. You completed your task. I would love to be able to do that. Would you have been able to do it without the ERT?

| | From what I can tell, he didn't have any ERT, just a relatively slow weekday at the park. I probably would've gone on the water rides earlier when it's still sunny and hot outside instead of getting soaked when it's starting to cool off outside. I've been on some of the flat rides there and I might try to hit a couple I haven't been on yet. Since I always go with more casual park fans, they drag ass and take their time. So it usually only allows for the coasters and a few of the bigger flat rides there. So if I have to choose, I always choose the coasters as well as my friends. If we spend the money, we're almost always going to choose the coasters at any park since for myself and them, that's the most exciting and fun. Although I do ike a lot of the flat rides.
Good trip report, sounds like you had a blast. We'll see what I get to ride there when I go later this month.
Also, does it count since Top Thrill Dragster was down and you didn't ride it?

| | | ERT or no ERT, that is amazing that you could do this.
So did you leave at 8:45 or did you slowly enjoy some of the rides you rushed to get through?

| | We went gift shop hopping and then left. I couldn't leave without buying a shirt to mark the occasion.
We did do ERT in the morning, for Dragster and MF. We made it to Maxair just as the park opened to the general public. Didn't utilize freeway at all though. If we started at 9:30 when the park opened to the GP and made the mad dash to dragster, then I still think it would of been do able without ERT. Would of been a stretch though. Quote: |

I think it re opened as we made our way to magnum though cause it was testing around that time.
Edit: I was just re-reading that part about dragster being down and I guess it is worded kinda funny. Yeah I meant not worry bout it in the "we already hit it" way.

| | Oddly enough some of the rides I had the best time on were rides like the lolli swings, and the balloon race. Strange how that works out.
The only reason we did the water rides last is because neither of us were fond of them, and we were trying to avoid the huge line for them when its hot out. I despise having wet socks. Drives me nuts when your feet get all pruny and there's nothing you can do about it. We ended up getting a locker anyways, but still. Water rides stink.....in my opinion.
Anyways. Like Coasterlove said, I had a freaking blast. I love like every ride at CP. The only ones that don't rank very high for me are Corkscrew, Mantis, and Ocean Motion. Well and the water rides, but thats just cause I hate getting wet.
Me and my buddy are plannin on doing the same thing at Geauga Lake and PKI in the next few weeks so if anybody has a full ride listing of either of those parks could you PM it to me

| | | Now you have to work the live-entertainment in there. The diving show, Snoopy on Ice, and all the stuff in Frontier town.

| | | Bah, I don't care for Snoopy's Summer Vacation ( Ice Show)
What you want to see if Rockin' The Red Garter Live! or Livin' In America.
Those are some great shows. Great, until you get the songs stuck in your head, along with your entire crew so you end up singing the songs on platform.... /insert Kelly Clarkson "Since U Been Gone" \insert
