Hershey 6/21 WOW!

What a great day. I finally got to hershey after not going last year. I think this is the best day I have ever had at hershey since I was like 4 years old.

Heres the beginning. We entered the park at about 1 oclock, and it said that storm runner was down. I was really bummed out. We went to comet, but there was a big line and we decided to go ride the weakest bumper cars ever. One lousy set of bumper cars. But the trip gets better as we go.

We rode the flyer things, those were awesome. They are really fun. I like the ones at knoebels better. As we were waiting in line, we saw storm runner go. That made me so happy.

So after we rode the flyer things we headed over to storm runner. 20 minute wait. The wait wasn't bad. This was actually the last true line we waited in. The station was beautiful for it. So we rode in the front, and the launch was awesome, the drop was awesome. The inversions were awesome. The airtime was awesome. But the thing was so short, and the otsr's were horrible. They hurt my shoulders and neck. I like the lap bars on MF and TTD much better. Overall a great ride though. I loved it. 8/10 for shortness and lousy restraints

After that we rode sidewinder (boomerang). No line! I liked it. It wasn't as bumpy as in previous years. 7/10 its a boomerang what can I say?

Next we headed over to wildcat. OMG THIS COASTER WAS AWESOME! The pacing, the airtime, and the wild banked turns were so great. This coaster feels so wild. I love the padded PTC seats. They are really awesome. We rode it like 4 times for there was no line at all. This coaster is alot better than I remembered. It takes my #1 wooden coaster spot. 10/10 completely flawless

Then we headed to lightning racer. It was pretty good. I think I prefer ptc trains over millenium flyer trains. It was still a pretty good ride. We rode it 3 times and we were 3-0! 9.5/10 for not being as good as wildcat lol.

Next we headed up to my baby Talon's big brother, Great Bear. No line. We rode it like 3 or 4 times. It was pretty good. It seemed so loud after being around Talon so much. The best part of the ride is the quick drop after the lift and the helix at the top. After that the ride is just average. The placing of the coaster is pretty good for it is right over the water and stuff. Not too bad, not too great of a ride. 7/10

Then we rode the log flume and the antique cars. They were pretty good.

After that we had dinner at this air conditioned place with average park food. It wasn't too good. Dry burgers and pizza. 4/10

Right after that, I rode sooperdooperlooper alone, cause none of my group wanted to ride it. The loop is good. After that the ride is lousy. 5/10.

Then we all rode Comet. Good schmeck. Unlike it's brothers thunderhawk and phoenix, this ride has very little airtime. But nonetheless, it is a very good ride. 8/10

After this we did rerides on storm runner, wildcat and lightning racer. All had no lines and were very good.

We skipped trailblazer and roller soaker for both had long lines for being such junky rides.

We ended the day at chocolate world and that was great, and headed home around 8:00.

Awesome day. Best day I ever had at Hershey.

I'm glad to hear you had a nice time at Hershey. I went last year and had a wonderful time with my friend. We went sort of early in the season and the forecast predicted rain, so no one was at the park, we practically had either 2 minute waits or no line at all. The longest line we waited was 15 minutes for Storm Runner later in the day. Hershey Park is one of my favorite parks, since I went for the sencond time in my life last year, but that time older and tall enough to ride the rides. Glad you had a great time slnewbus.

Glad you had a good time. I am surprised the restraints hurt you. You are the first person I have heard complain about them.

Wildcat, really . . , that's a clever understanding of that ride. I haven't ridden in 2 years, and maybe that has been time enough to significantly improve it. I wasn't that impressed by Wildcat, though of any of Hershey's wood coasters, I could see the most potential in that one. Maybe it is riding a lot better, but I have a pretty good feeling you just have no idea what you're talking about.

I haven't been to Hershey since Roller Soaker was new back in 02'. I has a magical couple of days back then. Wildcat was AMAZING then too, maybe thanks to a mid-afternoon thunderstom that blew through, emptied the crowds out and slicked up the tracks. I found Lightning Racer to be weak, if anything the Millennium Flyer trains track too well because they make the ride seem a bit forceless. Anyway I'm glad to hear that you had a wonderful time at a park that I have very fond memories of.

Wildcat sucking? Blasphemy!! One of the best woodies I've ridden, and it doesn't let up ever. The first drop is amazing, the whole ride is amazing.

Wonderfull TR. I guess i would be the 2nd person to say the restraints on SR hurt. Not the whole ride just that last turn.

I know that question wasn't directed at me, but I've ridden both...and I'm not sure which I like better. I think the Beast takes my number one spot, but it BARELY edges out Hershey's Wildcat.

I'm not a big fan of Wildcat because it whips my head around so bad and I always come out with a headache. I would rate Great Bear and Lightning Racer ahead of that anyday.

Overall, nice review, thanks!

Good to hear Hershey doesn't suck. Soaked for RCT3 is sponsered by Hershey, and their's Stormrunner and other rides in the game now.

Glade to hear you hade a nice time. I think the otsr's hurt only depending on where you sit, I have ridden storm runner and came off with my neck and shoulders hurting really bad from the last turn and then I can come off perfectly fine with nothing hurting. Good idea with skipping roller soaker and trailblazer, there usually not worth waiting more than 5 minutes for.

It didn't matter where i sat, It hurt on that last turn in the front and even worse in the back & middle. Still an awsome ride though just hate that last turn.

You should go Bigboy, It's an amazing park with a feeling to it which i can't explain. The park just had a good vibe and at night the park just seem to come alive.

Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty janky looking sections of the park but most of it was really nice.

I actually love the last turn on Wildcat. I like how it really shifts you to the side.

D00d, they're talking about that gimpy last turn on Storm Runner, you know, the one that isn't heartlined just so it will go under the monrail? Yeah, that one.

And you know that Hershey rocks the socks off Dorney. DP sucks.

I also found the OTSR's on SR to be painful, despite good comments about them. The ride seemed too short, and was a letdown based on what I heard. Still a fun ride though

Willski, stop trying to start a war with me in every one of your posts.

It wasn't a let down for me. I thought it was short, and the otsr's hurt, but it was still an awesome ride.

Wildcat is moody, but it's still my favorite Hershey coaster. There looked to be a ton of new wood on it this year, so Hershey is showing it some love.

Speaking of moody, the Storm Runner OTSRs are a mystery. People seem to find them either way too rough, or super smooth, with no rhyme or reason as to why. Case in point. I rode it with my brother this year, and he's practically my twin: same height, weight, fitness level, everything. Yet even though our rides were in the same row, same train, at the same time . . . . he thought it was the roughest ride he'd ever been on, and I thought it was perfectly smooth every time. What the heck?

This guy knows his woodies. Trimfull or trimless the Beast is the best. Wildcat ranks at number three on my list due to the curved frist drop. I like my drops solid straight.
