| WI Dells parks - June 10th
Day 7 (the 10th) - Mt. Olympus Theme Park - Riverview Park & Waterworld - Paul Bunyan's Adventure Golf (closed) - Timber Falls Adventure Park - Wisconsin Dells – Wisconsin Dells day was one of the more odd days… After getting up at 7am... I walked around outside of the hotel looking for a place to get some food at... I ended up walking all the way to Paul Bunyan's Adventure Golf… But it wasn't open yet. I took a few photos of the coaster… From Paul Bunyan you can see Avalanche at Timber Falls down the road and also the Sling Shot ride at Riverview….. After I got some fast food from the gas station next to the hotel… I went back to the hotel... I walked around and took a few photos of the indoor water park at the hotel…And then we were off…. The first stop of the day was Mt. Olympus... The van got a bit lost on the way and ended up turning around in the Timber falls parking lot… Wow… Avalanche looks great even when it's not moving… Back on the road to Mt Olympus the van drove right past Riverview…. And then it happens… You see Hades… Mmmmmmmm Hades…… Getting out of the van in the Mt Olympus parking lot... The sound of a lift hill was heard… But sadly it was Zeus and not Hades…. But then a few minutes later a second lift was heard… And then I got to see the train of Hades drop off the lift and go underground... From standing right where the tunnel starts… Mmmmmmmm…… After some confusion on how to get in and get group rates and stuff…. We got inside the park….. From the water park side... So having to walk all the way back across the park to where the coasters were…. On the way to Hades I pasted Little Titans... After seeing some of the other trekkers get turned away... I still walked up and asked... And was told it's for the kids… BOOOOO!.... I kept going... Wanting to get my Hades on… But not yet I had read about how crappy Dive was....and how it only has 4 cars and a 20 person line would be an hour wait... So as I walked past it I saw it had no line… So I got on... But I had to wait… They needed to have a "full boat" to run it... So after the filled the boat… The log was off…. Dive to Atlantis Type - Steel Year – 2004 Kind – Water coaster (log ride) Yeah so the log starts…. And after it takes all of 5 hours to get through the Channel part of the ride… Well... Ok it doesn't take 5 hours... but man does it feel it... It actually takes 12-15 minutes to make it around... The channel is too wide and at some points you might find your log going down the river…sideways… Well after all that crap… You get to the lift hill yay… Going up the lift hill if you look backwards you get a nice view of the parks other coasters and go karts and stuff… Once you get to the top of the lift you make a little turn and go down the first drop... Yay…. Then you come up and make a second turn… and then go down the big drop. The big drop is really good and long for a log ride type ride... Then to splash down into some of the dirtiest water I have ever seen on a water ride… The splash down on dive is way to wet… I have gone on Splash Boats that left me dryer then this log ride did…. Yeah… so in the end the ride sucks... the one big drop is ok…. Now that I was wet and cold I walked over to one of the main reasons I went on this trip…….. HADES! HADES Type – Wood Year – 2005 Kind – Amazing After the walk of hell around and up the hill... You get to the 4 sets of steps… After the climb 'to hell' you get to the station… Even only having one train the line was short… Most cars had no line... But I needed to ride the front my first ride…. After 2 waits... I was o n Hades………Mmmm……. The drop out of the stations is big… And even has airtime if you ride in the backseats…. After the drop you make some turns and go over some more hills getting air on everyone of them…. The pre-lift ride on this coaster is better then some full coasters are! Then you get to the lift hill… The lift hill is tall and somewhat slow… Getting to the top you start to see the drop… Mmmm….. The first drop is very large and fun… And then all hell breaks loose… You dive under the parking lot…. And go into the tunnel…. My god the tunnel…………. You don't feel the 90* banked turn... it only feels around 50*…. After popping out of the tunnel the train really slows over the hill and then dives into the turn over a smaller hill and back underground… Mmm back in the tunnel…. Close to the end of the tunnel you do a really cool "anti banked turn" The train turns to the left a bit... But the track is banked to the right. It's very very smooth and you really feel that and it's great! Popping out of the tunnel on the return run in the front seat you get lots of air… in the back you don't… After a few more hills and turns you go into the fun helix and turn up into the station and it's over… The ride is amazing! I took 3 front seat rides 2 backs and a few middles…. The only downside to the ride is... Not seeing the 90* turn... I think the ride might have been a bit better if underground the tunnel was filled with mist and red lights… (Like SROS at SFNE used to be…) After Hades I walked over to Zeus I had wanted to go on this coaster for some time after seeing it on the "Wild Rides 2" show… To bad the ride sucked a lot… And I mean… A lot! Zeus Type – Wood Year – 1997 Kind – Out-N-Back I took a front seat ride on it... and well the ride was a big let down for me. It was very rough and didn't have much air... It's also way shorter then it looked on TV….If they smoothed it out a bit I guess it would be funner but over all isn't a good ride. I also took a backseat ride later in the day and it still sucked... The ride just jackhammers the full ride and it's not fun. After that I took a few rides on Cyclops… in the front a few times… and in the back too…. Cyclops Type – Wood Year – 1995 Kind – Terrain Yeah yeah yeah…. Everyone always talks about the hill drop…Yeah it's the best part of the ride…. But the parts before that are just as fun and airfull too! In the front the first part of the ride is fun and fast with some pops of air... then 'the' drop happens and you get some really great air and then the rides over…. In the back seat you get air time on EVERY HILL! Even off the lift! The hill drop in the backseat is amazing! Me and Deka rode the back 2 rides even with the "18+ rule" a 17 year old Deka still took 2 rides on it... With a 100% slacked seatbelt… the drop is the back is crazy... But only because of the buzz bars… If Riverside Cyclone had buzz bars its back car would be a wilder ride… One of our backseat rides Deka ended up part of my lap and part on her side…. Good times…. After that I got some ice cream... That tasted funky... and wasn't very good... I ate it on the way up to Pegasus's station… Yay Family Woodies! Pegasus Type – Wood Year - 1996 Kind – Family Woodie The ride is a kid ride but its fun for what it is… It has some fun turns and a bit of air and for a family ride is great. The coaster goes all around and over one of the parks Go-Kart tracks… I think it's the "Medusa Drop" track… But I could be wrong. It might not be the best coaster ever… But as far as family rides go its really good. After that I found Jay... The only other kid on the trip who wanted to walk over to Riverview... So I went over with him… After a short walk across Mt Olympus's parking lot you get to Riverview and Water World Park We got our ride bands and went to the wheel first…On wait… Was it the wheel or was it the Moby Dick ride…Whatever ill just say we went on the wheel first…. From the wheel you can see all of Riverview's coasters… Avalanche down at Timber falls and also Hades and a most of Mt Olympus… You can also see Noah's Ark from the top. But just a few slides popping out over the trees. After the wheel we went on the Moby dick flat ride… It's like the one at Palace Playland but they run it a lot faster... But they give a way to short ride… After that we walked down to the first of the 3 coasters at the park… The Galaxi…. Where we met the crazy old ride op… After telling us how he MADE THE RIDE! And also a few down at Mt Olympus... He then told us that the ride "works on gravity"… So we couldn't wait for the next train...Because if the front car wasn't full the ride wouldn't work… I guess the "gravity" at other parks is different…. We had to fill the one with 2 kids already in it…. Galaxi Type – Steel Year - ?? Kind – Galaxi… Yeah... It's just like any other Galaxi coaster…. It ran for the most part trimless so it was fast and had some pops of air… Overall if you have been on one you have been on them all…. And I didn't really like this one as I couldn't ride in the front... or the back... I had to ride row 2 of car 1… |

( The text that you have entered is too long (17347 characters). Please shorten it to 10000 characters long.) Yeah so after that we walked over to the parks new for 2005 kiddie coaster…. "Chinese Express" / Dragon Wagon…. Type – Steel Year – 2005 Kind – Kiddie Yeah so we took the back 2 cars… And well going over the hill into the helix the ride slow down so much it felt like it was going to roll back… Fun stuff…. When on the ride we found that most of the other trekkers ended up coming over to Riverview... Even the ANTI-RIVERVIEW DEKA SHOWED UP!... The one who was all "EWW IT LOOKS GHETTO" and... "You must have low standers if you want to go to that park"... And what did she do!... SHE WENT ON THE Galaxi!.. After making fun of me for wanting to go to the park…………………….. Yeah... So after the dragon wagon ride... Me and Jay walked down to the last coaster in the park... The "Mouse Coaster" The ride doesn't seem to have a real name... Or it has 5 of them…. "Mouse Coaster" / Wacky Worm Type – Steel Year – 2003 Kind – Wacky Worm Jay took the front seat so I took the back... The op looked at us odd... I guess seeing to big kids jumping on the baby coaster is funny… Yeah the ride is just a wacky worm... Not much to talk about... turn lift turn lump turn drop turn end… I guess it ran faster then some of the other ones I have been on... But whatever it's a "point". After that we raced each other on the super slide... I so won… Then I found Deka and talked to her… Jay went on the Tilt-A-Whirl and I sat on a bench… After Jay got off the Whirl we went into the glass maze… This was the most ghetto thing of the trip... Most maze rides like this end with a slide from the top… For some reason Riverview's doesn't have the slide… It just ends and you have to walk all the way back threw the ride to get out... "WTF" After that we left Riverview… Me Deka and Jay walked around a bit... We walked over to the deer park... But didn't go in as it was like $10 to feed and pet the deer… So we left… Jay went back to Mt. Olympus and me and Deka walked over to "Top Secret" a little upside-down white house… Deka REALLY wanted to do something like this all day so we just did it… It was very corny but fun… We did it just to say we did one of the many trappy places the dells has... Once we got out we saw the robo coaster… I had done the one at IAAPA 4 or 5 times... So paying 10$ didn't seem like it was going to happen... (NOTE the robo-coaster has now been moved to Mt. Olympus) It was getting stormy as we walked back into Mt Olympus… As we walked over the parking lot it started to rain and then thunder… Deka went to get food and I went to a gift shop... But then it rained hard and we lost each other… I ended up close to the water park with a few of the other trekkers… After what seemed like 30 minutes or so the rain stopped and rides reopened… I went back and took a few more rides on Hades and Cyclopes … I still hadn't done any of the go kart tracks... So after I found Deka we did one… Of all the tracks only a few seemed fun… Poseidon was the one we did... It had high track and then a tunnel under the lake... And also a bridge over it that had some lumps that gave air time…. Deka was freaked out for the tunnel for some reason... Something like "it might leak" or something dumb like that…. Yeah… after a few more coaster rides… It was almost time to go down to Timber Falls…. On the way to the meet up point… We passed Little Titans once more… As I took a few photos a little kid in the front seat said he liked my hair... So I asked if I could ride with him and he got all happy and said "YEAH!!"…. WOOO!!! I would get to ride Titan…… Deka also got on the ride… Little Titans Type – Steel Year – 200 Kind – Kiddie This is just like any of the jeeper's coasters or the little Zamp family coasters… But whatever… It counts… When on the ride a few of the other trekkers saw us on the ride and took a few photos of us on it… yay…. Americoaster.com has a few photos of me on it…lol After that we were all done with Mt Olympus… Back to the van…. Once more we passed Riverview… Woo… Time for Timber Falls... After seeing an off ride video of Avalanche in the winter I really wanted to ride this ride…. So it… like Hades... And also Boss was one of the main reasons I wanted to go on the trip….. Getting into the parking lot you see how crazy this "park" is… For its size is HAS to be the coolest park EVER!.... Some how the park has crammed in GOOD bumper boats with water guns… One of the best coasters I have ever been on! A GREAT mini-golf course and a long fun log ride!.. They also have a Sky Scraper off to the side… With the ride pass you can do all the rides (not the scraper) and mini-golf as much as you want. Going up the ramp into Avalanches station I watched as a train few past…. For a ride with only a 3 car train... You wouldn't think it would go as fast as it does… Or be as crazy as it is… Avalanche! Type – Wood Year – 2004 Kind – Other… Avalanche is a very small coaster... All it does is go around the mini-golf 2 times… From the top of the lift to the station takes all of 40 seconds… But man are they some of the best 40 seconds of your life………. After you go down the 90 or so first drop... The rest of the ride seems to only go up 20 feet on the hills... meaning you get lots of hard air… The turns on the ride are also crazy… as they are very tight and banked hard... The ride is so great!.. The last turn on the ride is odd…going over the top of the turn the ride un-banks a bit then re-banks... giving you this weird feeling of lateral air time… Avalanche is very fast and out of control... It's also very smooth and powerful by far one of the best coasters I have ever been on. After many rides on Avalanche I took a ride on the log ride. It was also very fun and had 2 drops. It also had a long tunnel and went around and under the coaster. Me and Deka also did the free mini-golf. The golf layout is by far one of the best I have ever done. It also gets you right up next to the coaster... you can even touch it at some points… I suck at mini-golf… So much ...I suck at it so much that on the first hill my ball bounced off a wall... got 'airtime'... and went over the holes wall... and bounced out into the logs river... After running around the park to get a new ball... We restarted out game… in the end I beat Deka by all of 5 points… way to go me!.... After that we took a few more laps on Avalanche and then did the bumper boats that are 100% under Avalanche…After that I walked off... Deka didn't want to go down to Paul Bunyan with me because of her "standers"… On my 1 block walk from Timber Falls to Paul... I pasted a mini-golf place… That was massive!.... The sign outside of the place said…."WE HAVE 91 DIFFERENT THEMED HOLES!" Who the hell wants to pay Mini-Golf for 91 holes!!! After crossing a street I was back at Paul Bunyan... In the 12 hours from when I took my photo before they had put up a new fence… The coaster and golf part were closed off and seemed like they had been closed for some time… I took a few more photos of the coaster and 'park'... I went over to the gift shop part that was open it was also a food stand. I asked if the coaster was open... or ever had… I was told "they were working on it" and "it hasn't opened ever"... So with that… I walked back over to Timber falls… and took 2 more rides on Avalanche…. That was it for Dells day… woo! That night we started on our way to Missouri…. To bad the next day would just suck……. By far the next day was the worst of the trip…. The closed express coaster... ![]() HADES Big drop ![]() Cyclopes from the backseat ![]() Riverviews Galaxi ![]() Avalanches first drop |

dude, don't break rules like that, and if you do, don't WRITE about it here!!! if you haven't heard, do some research on the stark raven mad event at holiday world. just because we're coaster enthusiasts doesn't make us exempt to rules concerning our safety. end of rant.

Sounds like you had a great time, that really is fun. One day I'd like to go to the DElls, but only for Timber Falls and Mt. Olympus. I would've spent more time on the go-karts and bumper boats rather than go to the trashy types of parks with the carnival ride. Those don't matter to me.

I think attendants who don't check the train can kill more people than people not observing a crazy rule like that. The operator on Cyclops sent the train out without checking the lapbars!

They are crazy! Durring the winter as you all know i went there and they left the ride keys under the control pannel. I did take them and put it in the control pannel and hit lift start and it started but after that we put them back. They need to keep those keys in something because we saw 2 peaple that found the keys to zuse and they started the ride and even rode it. We didnt though. We left and right when we left cops pulled up and asked if some peaple are runnig the ride and we said yes, there over at zues. They need to be more careful.

Overall nice TR James, I still find it pretty funny that we were the only ones that wanted to go to Riverview (BTW you are correct, the wheel was first then Moby Dick), then a bunch of them came over later.... I did think Zeus was a TON better in the front seat (not rough at all, lots of floater), kind of reminded me of an out and back version of the Raven. Man that day I added 4 coasters to my top 20, and 3 to my top 10.. crazy, insane day. --Jay (Who is still bitter about not going to LAMA) |

I've looked through this and noticed a people mentioned Mt. Olmpus and their ride ops. While it doesn't have any effect on me, I did see that a lot of the workers there seemed to be a little careless. Some of the workers didn't check restraints or look over riders as they departed the station. Some workers there I thought were rude or ignorant about the way they handle their job duties. I hadn't been on any go karts prior to this so I didn't notice any major problems there. A few of their workers there also seemed a little rude and not paying total attention to their jobs. Overall though I had a great time and I'll post a trip report about it sometime tomorrow.
