| worlds of fun july 22 june 22 was one of the hottest days of the year for the midwest and well, i went to worlds of fun on that day - the second i got out of the car we were dying of heat (me, my twin, and 2 girls) after the 3 hr drive from omaha, arriving at 12 PM
we went to viking voyager first and realized its about 98* at noon and nobody is in line for the log ride so we thought it was deserted and it was. after a fun ride on that we went to spinning dragons which we rode once and then two more times later and got a few good rides with no waits in on it, now it had been a while since these girls had been on a coaster and one of them about had a heart attack and wound up getting a headache - so what else to do but to go on the timberwolf
we get there after a 10 minute air conditioned bathroom break and by now its 103* (how hot it got) but i would really like to know the heat index - first they were scared because they thought the ride would fall apart because its wooden, but they lightened up after the first drop - oh yeah we didnt wait for the front seat and they had one train going - and surprisingly it was smooth, but we came back a while later and sat in the back and if i hadnt held on after the first turn around my back would have broken, luckily i was headacheless but holding on with my OW MY BACK HURTS face on made for a nice keychain picture
next we tried to get on thunderhawk but they just closed it for a while so we went to cyclone sams, the best ride ever - again we didnt wait, but the girl who almost had a heart attack on spinning dragons almost sat it out but she was glad she didnt
next it was to the detonator and we were almost dripping sweat, we went two and two and the girls went together, boy did they scream but hey we had fun
so were miserable and think, lets just go on the monsoon. we get over there and they decide hey, were gonna run two boats for oceans of fun and one for worlds of fun, so that line was hot as heck and after about 15-20 minutes we finally got on and that was a fun ride, but that bump in the middle of the drop was a bit scary
next it was onto the mamba which we got 3 good rides in on in the back everytime, they ran one train and each time we had to wait two or three trains, but oh well it was fun and the MCBRs almost did nothing making the second half way better
boomerang was next and i actually did like this ride, but i never realized how much they trim this ride before you go into the loop backwards, we sat in the back both times and never waited either time, so that was pretty fun too
next we rode zulu and people were just getting off and one girl walks out of the exit and barfs so one girl decides to skip out and hang out in the airconditioned bathrooms and the other took a relaxing and fun ride on zulu and that being one of my favorite rides in the park made the day better - for some reason the employees that work on this ride dont give a crap, sometimes they can be the slowest workers in the park, i know it can take a while to load and unload but today they were actually fast, but didnt give a crap still
next it was the sea dragon and we wound up having to sit one seat back from the middle, which sucks. during the ride one of my friends got a phone call and actually talked on it during the ride, the ride ops saw her and did nothing - i didnt complain, but i bet they were supposed to tell her to get off the phone
we got two rides in on thunderhawk as well, both were great but the first time we were on the end so we didnt get wet, second time we got soaked
then it went detonator, mamba, boomerang, and at 5:45 we exited (if it was my choice wed stay til close)
the day was somewhat fulfilling, but mamba could have used two trains - soem guy behind me one time had 19 rides and i was amazed because they only had one train going, but good for him
it was the most miserable trip to worlds of fun because of the heat, but i still had a good time - finally im done with this TR
