Busch Gardens Williamsburg, 7/21-7/22

Background: I went with a group of people that aren't coaster fanatics and stuff.

Thursday morning, about 11 AM, I stepped on the bus to begin our trip up BGW. After stopping at Aurby's along the way (Very Expensive, 9 dollars for a value meal, but great service, I had my meal in my hand before I got my change back) And then stopped at the hotel to check in. About 4:30 we finally enter the park.

We decide to hit Alpengiest right away. Some kid in our group in or group said it would be faster to take the charlifts, only we went on the WRONG one, which I kept pointing out, but the counsuler refused to believe me. So after waiting in about a 15 minute line, and then gettting off at the wrong side of the park, the group finally decides to listen to me.

Anyways, we get there, and it's a short wait, mabey only 10 minutes. I got into the back seat along with my friend and the consuler. The consuler was too big, so they gave him a pass for him and 4 others to cut the line on Big BAd Wolf. Alpiengiest is huge. This would be the tallest inverted coaster I've been on. The drop was very good.. The ride itself was so fast. I really liked to Cobra Roll in it. There was one rough spot where head banging occured, but beside that, it was fine. It felt a little it short, but nonetheless great. 9/10

we then went over to BIg Bad Wolf. I can tell you that the crowd was mad that we got to cut them. The first drop was pathetic, but I loved the speed of racing along the water. On the second drop, I smashed my knee really hard ( I have Osgood Slaghters Disease ) so I got mad at that. I would give it a 7/10, but that's being genorous.

MOre to come later, i gotta go

We then went over to Loch Ness Monster. My expectations were not high, but boy, was I wrong! Right off the bat, the drop was my favorite for an over the head restraint. A good spurt of air. The interlocking loops were amazing, and the tnnel you were in felt like an enternity. One great ride. I also noticed how quite the lift hill was, considering the coaster was made in 79'. Not one complaint, a perfect 10.

It was about then when I noticed just why the the park was voted the most beautiful. The flowers, the landscape, and the theming was spectacular and mind-blowing. I can see what everyone talked about.

After Loch Ness, we headed to dinner, provided by the park in the pavillions. Good everything, and it was unlimited. Made myself a triple decker burger. MMMM. Food was good.

we then decided it was time for Apollo's Chariot. People have mixed views about this coaster. I however LOVED it. It was another short line, which was nice. I waited for the front seat. I didn't understand the "fake drop", but the actual drop had some amazing airtime The whole ride was simply fast, smooth, and airfilled. Exactly what I look for in a Hyper. No doubt a 10/10. I bought my ride picture. My girlfriend loved it too. I did wind up getting into an argument with someone in my group. they said "dude, that was the tallest coaster. 350 feet! and 60 MPH!" I was like dude, its 210 and 73 mph. it was kinda stuid of me to argue, but I am going to win 50$ offa bet I made with him to prove him wrong. My girlfriend said "just let it go", so I did.

The group wanted to go to the arcades ( which I never do, I don't go to an amusment park to play videogames, i got those at home) so I just waited outside and watched Apollo's Chariot with my girlfriend. It was starting to get dark, and finally, someone said "lets go on that castle!"

It was a long line, bt they had Air Conditioning vents everywhere along side the walls. The line does move fast though. This became my favorite ride of that type. It had some very nice special effects, in particular they ending. I thought someone had spit on me, So i was getting ready to swing, but my friend had said what happend. I felt dumb. It was great, and the ride was very well themed. 10/10.

Basically, we did the same thing the next day, Just adding on slightly longer lines, more rides, and all the coasters atleast 3 more times.

Overall Notes:
very good, clean, well-themed/landscaped/etc. park. A very great staff, going out of there way to make your day good.

Great rides, coasters, entertainment.

The park probabally moved up into either my first or second favorite park. I still just love SFGADV's coasters. IF busch Gardens got a few more, good quallity coasters, it will take the cake easily.

glad you had a good time. i also find it annoying when someone gets the stats wrong on a coaster and i try to correct them but they dont believe me. the coasters at this park are all great. did you happen to go on corkscrew hill, escape from pompeii, davinci's cradle, or any other rides? oh, loch ness opened in 78, not 79. but it does run great for its age. i never get tired of this park even though ive been sooo many times. also, glad to hear you liked DarKastle. anyways, im happy you had a great time at the world's most beautiful theme park!

i did catch escape from pompeii and corkscrew hill. I loved the fire affects on Pompeiii, especially the ones on the ceiling. We also waited for Roman Rapids for about an hour. I know that on water rides you get wet, but there is always one person that gets wet more then others, and, alas, that was me. I got soked at the end with the water fall part. It was so humid, I didn't dry entirely that day. the ride home on the bus was freezing.
