| | | TR:Cedar Point 7/30/05 Where: Cedar Point When: 7/30/05 We arrive at the park pretty early at 10:00 after a very short 20 min drive. After entering, we headed towards the back of the park where it is usually not to busy in the morning and hit Gemini(2 rides.) For a steelie with a wooden structure it was very smooth. It was a little bumpy in the back row but what a fun ride! It combines speed with racing to make it so enjoyable. 4/5 Next I stopped to grab a quick bite to eat at the Happy Friar and a FREE water. Boy were those cheesy fries delicous but expensive. After that we moved on over to Magnum(3 rides.) which is right next to Gemini. The wait was only 3/4 hour and I grabbed very back for this ride. I love back seat on just about every coaster because you get the full 100% of each hill. Has anyone heard of Magnum getting new lap bars at all? It's about time they start considering it. Anyway my overall ride was great, jam packed with speed, air, and tunnells which add alot to the ride. My overall experience would be a 5/5. After that I checked the line for TTD which was stretching out of the queue. This was the reason I refused the 3 hour wait. I usually won't wait in a line that is over 2 hours. I was in the mood for some wood and Blue Streak(2rides.) really hit the spot. The line was an hour for this little woodie but well worth the wait. I decided to sit in the 3rd car on this woodie and it was fun. You really get some nice air on the second drop. I have had some bad experiences on Blue Streak but this one was pretty good. 4/5. I heard the game section calling my name so I had to check in over there. Of course I wasted 10 bucks trying to win me a Stewie doll. I swear those things are rigged! It was about 3:00 after that and it was very hot out so I headed over to all of the water rides and rode them all twice. I was very refreshing getting wet on a 92 degree day! After that It was dinner time and I headed over to Coasters diner for a cheseburger and fries. It was great and the shakes were good too. After that I headed over to Witches wheel. It's definately not a good ride to go on when it's hot out and your not feeling good. I think you can assume what happened after the ride! It was nearing 6:30 and I dove in for Millennium Force. The wait was pretty short only at an hour and it seemed even shorter. It was pretty funny hearing first timer cry on the way up and even more on the way down. At the end it turned out that she absolutely HATED it. The ride is very fast and breathtaking. I love speed but it lacks air. There were only two spots of air which were both the second and thrid hills which didn't really provide for me. My overall rating would be a 3.5/5. Well unfortunately my day was coming clsoe to an end at 7:45 but I decided to stay for a few more hours. I purchased a lemonade and headen on over to Raptor, Bird of prey! Still my favorite inverted coaster and the fastest line of the 7 I have ridden. I got on about 8:30 and grabbed front row. The first inversion is a huge verticle loop and the train blazes right over it with tons of gs. I love Raptor because of the smoothness. It just seems to glide right through the track like bread and butter. The ending turns are face warping. In my photo I looked like a dog with saggy cheeks from the pressure. My ratign would be a 4/5. I then headed over to Mantis which only had a 1/2 hour wait. This ride is also pretty smooth but can be a bit headbanging at times. I was thinking that B&M would make more inversions on Mantis, considering that Raptor has six and was built 2 years before. Anyway I found Mantis to be intense and fast going through the first loop, even though I did recognize a trim on the first drop but Does not brake too heavily. My rating would be a 3.5/5 because of roughness. I then thought it was time for Maxair, which might I add had a very fast line. The queue marker said 1 hour but the wait was only 1/2 hour. I swear this thing almost goes upside down. It's pretty scary when you are facing up on one of those big drops. The restarint was a little uncomfortable for me though. I would give it a 4/5. That was a great trip! I left the park after watching the laser light show which was fantastic! I'm also thinking about returning the following Saturday so look for future Trip Reports. MM89

| | | Lucky you, I was acually thinking of either moveing to the middle of Ohio or Orlando just to be min or and hour or so away from the major parks in the US.
I don't live in a great spot to visit ohio & florida more then once. 9 hours to each state. I do enjoy my home park but it can get boaring just haveing one park. Maybe sometime in the coming 5 years i will relocate.

| | Good TR.
Yeah the 30th ended up being one of the busiest days of the season so its good to see you got a pretty good share of rides in.
Raptor only has 6 inversions though

| | | I don't know how I messed that up. I knew she had six, I must have been thinking of Montu or something. I never thought I would say this but It actually gets pretty boring visiting the same park every weekend. I really want to visit Hershey,Dorney and BGW. Do you work at the park?

| | That sounds like a crazy crowded day. It stinks when it's overly crowded at the park. It must have just been a busy weekend for parks in general.
I was at SFGAm yesterday and it was nuts. I've been gong there a lot on the weekends and it usually hasn't been bad at all. Yesterday was a different story. We got there right about 10am and managed to ride Viper, Raging Bull and American Eagle within an hour. After that was the waterpark for a couple hours. When we got out the park was nuts as was the waterpark as we were leaving. I haven't seen it that crowded this year. Many lines were an hour or more for even some of the less popular rides.
I know that it has half off tickets for workers of Jewel and their friends and family this week and that might have contributed a lot to that as well. But whatever people were thinking in the SFGAm area, they must've been thinking the same by CP. Even though it sucks when the park is crowded, it means the park is making money. And as long as they are, it will always mean new rides. I try to keep that in mind as I wait for hours all day in line.

| | | Wow, you must really dislike MF, to give it the same rating as Mantis. Oh well, I love it, everyone can't love the same rides, but that 3.5 was a little disturbing. |

| | | It lacks the element of airtime, which is what I prefer a coaster to provide. There were actually 2 spots on the 2nd and 3rd hills right after the overbanks that provided some nice air, But the blazing speed and the wonderfull layout make it the most intense coaster I have ever ridden.(Even after riding TTD)

| | | Thats very true since MF pretty much just has airtime elements. If it has those types of elements, then you should get the full effect. Of course, I don't expect air when on an invert and such. It just goes with the category. Hyper=air! |

| | | My parents were there the same day. I didn't go. I went on Coastermania day back in June and I refuse to go back until at least October. We rode that park into the ground. I had a season pass for 3 years, but after this year, I just didn't have the money. I don't want to wait in the hot sun for an hour to ride a wooden coaster that is usually a walk on. If I had a pass, it would be different. Plus, like everyone said going to the same park gets boring.

| | | If it's going to be your only time then I would say no. There are much better rides than that and you shouldn't waste your time wating in line for it when you could be iridng MF,Raptor,Mantis,Blue Streak and Magnum, which can also have pretty long lines. If it is a 2 hour wait, go for it!
