| Coney Island
I might go to Coney Island while I'm at NYC, and it will be my first time, so I would like it alot if some people gave as many tips, reviews, or whatever as possible.

Oh. Would Coney Island be worth spending 2 hours? Because that's all I have to be there.

Coney Island is definitely worth spending 2 hours. The Cyclone is an excellent ride....not to mention that it takes up an entire city block. There is so much history and nostalgia at Coney Island.Now...it is nowhere near as nice as it was in its heyday, but I would still recommend that you check it out. After a few rides on the Cyclone (Built in 1927 and STILL RUNNING)...check out the Wonder Wheel, go for a couple of Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, and then take a stroll on the boardwalk. If you can do some research on the history of Coney Island before you go, you can see how run down it truly has become. But...the city is trying to revive the area. Having the Brooklyn Cyclones play there at Keyspan Park has been wonderful. The newly renovated subway station is beautiful. Hopefully within 5 to 10 years, Coney Island can return to being the destination it once was. BTW...if you plan on taking a New York City subway to Coney Island...you need to take the D Train headed towards Brooklyn (if you are not in the boro of Brooklyn) to the last stop, which will be Stillwell Avenue. Hope this helps. |

The Cyclone, lengthwise, is a block, but it doesn't take up that much space along the beach. The best ride there is the Top Spin. Deno's Wheel is fun too, as is the Log Flume. The rides there are mostly typical, except the Top Spin, which is just an incredible ride, better cycle than any other.

What about Power Surge? Besides, don't they have like $20 something bucks for ride everything unlimited times, or is that minus Cyclone?

I've heard Power Surge, Break Dance and Top Spin 2 are all manually run and are some of the best run of their kind. Here is a list of rides at Astroland: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/park_vi...astroland.html Astroland's website has a $3 off wristband coupon: http://www.astroland.com/coupon2.html. Also, you might want to check out Deno's Wonder Wheel, an icon of Coney Island: www.wonderwheel.com Numerous trusted sources have told me that 1.4 is a great seat on the Cyclone, not as rough as the backseat.

About the Wonderwheel, it said the park is open on Weekends. Does that mean its open 7 days a week, or just weekends? Also, I dont know what you mean by 1.4 for the seating on Cyclone.

1.4 means Car 1, Row 4. http://www.coasterimage.com/pictures.../cyclone02.htm There is a picture of the train. Also, if WonderWheel's website says weekends, then it probably means just weekends. Give them a call to clarify that with them.
