SFGadv 8/10/05 VIP

So I'm on my way up the new jersey turnpike going to pass a guy because i'm doing 85. Didn't realize there was a cop sitting in the median and my $200 radar detector didn't go off...luckily for me he had his radar off. So I get scared, slow down to 72 for a few minutes then can't handle the slowness and I gotta get to SF right.

Had some light rain. Nothing too serious.

Got inside exactly 10 am. SF issued me two VIP passes so I decided to redeem them after I get my ride on Kingda Ka in the morning. "Kingda Ka is having technical difficulties." So some bail outta line and some stay. I decided to wait. Well didn't get off the ride until 12 oclock.

As a sidenote, if you ever read the lockers, its $2 for up to 5 hours and a buck every hour after that. Maximum $10 a day. Now think about that. You could be charged $10 a day for a locker rental. Before you do that just take your junk outta your locker at 5 hours then get a new one. That way your max locker rental is $4.....

Anyway 12 oclock. Guest relations. We end up getting a 10 hour vip pass. 12 to 10pm. All for free too. So heres my plan. Kingda Ka for 10 hours straight. I mean come on now. What could be better? So we go back over to kingda ka and ride about 6 times. My friends wants to go over to nitro. All the way over to nitro....ok so we ride nitro a few times, then he has a bright idea to get on that river rapid thing. Uhhh...I hate geting wet. So I get pressured into riding then out of the whole boat I get the most wet...ARG

When we get off, O ****. Wheres my vip pass!?!? Not only that I'm freezing because the sun all of the sudden dissapeared in some ugly clouds. So I'm thinkin I'm pretty much screwed and theres no way I'm paying $100 to get a vip pass for 4 hours. So just for the helluvit I try to get a replacement vip pass at GR. And whata you know, the lady gives me another one, since she remembered me. NICE!!!

So we go over to Kingda Ka again and it seemed as if there was some kind of problems again because they weren't letting people in. Anyway we waited to get in and rode it once. Train number 1 was placed on the maintance tracks and this really messed up the right side of the station time wise.

Sorry I am not mentioning times. I really didn't keep track after 12 noon. Rather than riding KK again we go ride Superman twice, then Medusa twice. We then went all the way back over to the Chiller and rode that twice. Batman the ride hurt my head for some reason, so we only rode one time. Skull Mountain is kinda lame, but nontheless we still rode it three times.

After that, we basically just rode Kingda Ka and Superman all night.

Kingda Ka had minor problems about 5 or 6 times throughout the day. The longest one being the one in the morning and one at about 9.20. Funny thing is that the hosts on kingda ka said that one at 9:20 was a minor problem, but it turned out to be the longest.

I can definitely say VIP passes are great. I would probably never pay $100 for one whihc only last 4 hours, but it was fun. Can't really complain about anything because I didn't have to wait in lines and didn't have to pay to enter. The rain and thunder held off, although I got scared a few times because of the horrible looking clouds.

Has anybody else experienced great discomfort when you hit the brakes just after the top of that bunny hill? That part was killing me every ride for some reason.

I can get to the park in an hour and 15 minuets from home, but it took me over 3 hours to get home. They were doing construction on 195 and there was only the right lane open. Jeez was that a pain. Never fell asleep driving, but I sure thought I was going to then.

Awesome. I'm gonna do that this coming week, so great TR!

Questions: With the passes, can you choose the row in which you ride in?

The only rides that we didnt get to pick our seats were the following: Nitro (row 2) Batman (row 5) Skull Mountain (middle).

Some rides you are assigned a random row and the rest of the rides you pick a line in the station, so there is a small wait.

I'm guessing you are probably gonna wanna ride Kingda Ka right? Well for VIPers you just go throw the fastlane gate and then you can choose whatever line you want inside the right side station. When I went, the whole back right station was dedicated to fastlane and vip only, so there no a maximum wait of about 15 minutes for front row. All other rows were 5 minutes max.

Superman you just go up the exit. The host will ask which row you want. If you want front row they will make you wait 2 - 3 trains until you can ride. I guess to be fair?

Each ride is different though. Kinda hard to explain unless you wanna know a certain ride.

Sounds like a good time. Was it your first time on KK?

First time on KK but I rode TTD about 20 times.

Also wanted to know if anyone has experienced like a second blackout type thing on Nitro just before the mid brake run in the helix. Every time I rode it I had kinda blacked out on the end of that helix. Never happened to me before. Maybe because I hadn't eaten anything?
