SFGADV - 8/11/05 long lines

like normal, i got to the park at 4:00 with my friend and went straight to the chiller. i was very suprised to see the line inside the building and then even more suprised to see the line inside the station (it stopped right around the turnstiles). we got a back row ride with a total of about 15 minutes due to long loading times. you cant get a ride much more fun than this. the launch is great and the 0-G roll is absolutely amazing, it really feels like youre getting pulled out of the train, especially with the lapbar, and especially going backwards.

we then headed towards kingda ka. it was only running three trains, the green train was on the transfer track. we get in line and i really wanted to try out the front row because i wasnt that impressed with two middle row rides i had a few days before. the line took up all the switchbacks and a little bit more. about an hour later with no breakdowns we got into the station and the front row looked like a good choice since it wasnt much longer than the other rows. well no luck for us because the ride op sent us over the bridge and to the other station which was only running the orange train so the front way was very long. we decided to go into the second row instead which only had a one train wait. i thought this row wouldnt be very differant because of the stadium seating and i was right. this ride was SOOOO much better than my last 2 rides in the third row. THE WIND is INSANE. i couldnt keep my eyes open and at the end they were soaked in tears from the sheer speed and wind. it was also much smoother than the other rows. IF YOU RIDE KINGDA KA, GO FOR EITHER ROW OF THE FIRST CAR OF THE TRAIN.

then we headed towards rolling thunder but it was only running one side and the line was down the steps and way out of the station so we didnt feel like waiting. we then rode taz twister. i've been on one gravitron ride but nothing else where you stick to the wall so i wanted to give this a try. it was cool but it got me sick. and had to sit down for a little while after riding it.

we then went to medusa but the line was too long so we walked back to kingda ka but the line was too long so we went to nitro which only had a line in a few of the switchbacks. an hour later and we were in the front row. this was my first front row ride of nitro in quite a while. those four seats are the four best seats on any rollercoasters in the park. the only bad thing was the BUGS!! at the top of the third and fifth hill, my face got pounded with bugs. it was disgusting, i went into the bathroom and i had them smushed all over my face. it was about 8:30 so we left to wawa for dinner and then went home.

Glad to hear that you had a nice day and a great ride on KK. All of my rides on KK have been in the first or second row, and they are both the best rows on the ride, and give best airtime over the bunny hill.

It was crowded on the 10th also.

Now I know that if I rode the front once, I can go to the second row now.

My favorite seat is the front row, and the left seat. On the 270 twist you get the outside of the twist which is a little longer, and you feel like you are going to hit the supports.
