| | Geauga Lake a go-go? I am planning on going to Geauga Lake tomorrow (8/23). Does anyone know what the crowds will be like during limited hours of operation? What is the water park like? The park closes at 8PM this week. I suspect it is because of local schools starting. I hope it is not too crowded. I have not been there since SF sold it to CF so, I am hoping the atmosphere will be nicer and the employees will be friendlier. I got yelled at last time by a SF parking attendant to keep moving because I stopped to count the change she gave me. She short-changed me and I snapped back at her that she owed me 10 dollars. I hope I don't get any repeats of this crap this time around.

| | | This should belong in Travel Trips...Overall the park is really nice, it's a little tough getting from Hurricane Hannah's this season since you have to take the ferries, but it's definitely worth it since the new Wildwater Kingdom is a lot of fun. The staff seemed a lot friendlier when I went, I guess Cedar Fair's thorough examination of all staff did a lot because all them grumpy Six Flags employees are gone. If I was you, I would stay away from RWB and Villain, they're both in terrible condition...Villain made my back hurt when I got off which definitely isn't good. But don't expect any crazy crowds, it wasn't crowded during the summer so I wouldn't be too worried. Schools are back in session as well so crowds should be a minimal like at Cedar Point. But definitely go to the waterpark if the weather is nice. It's worth it, believe me. |

| | | Dude, it's one thing if its rough...It's another thing if it's unbearable. Villain in my opinion is unbearable, everyone getting off it is complaining how rough it is. So are you going to call all the GP that ride Villain pansies because they don't like the ride because it's a terrible ride right now? If you like getting back spasms and getting banged around, that's fine with me. But don't insult me because I don't think a ride is good because it's rough. Some people don't like rough coasters, thats one of the reasons Steel Phantom was taken out. |

| | | just to let you know, the crowds shouldn't be all that bad. And you should have a lot better dealings with the Cedar Fair employees. I would suggest going on some flats first then heading towards the coasters. I don't start work 'til 4 because of school, but I don't think that it'll be very crowded. It should be a good day to be at the park. Plus it's only suppose to be like 72-75 degrees so it'll be cooler. It might be crowded because of people coming as their "end of summer" blow out, but generally it's never really crowded at GL.

| | | Lat me say don't miss x-flight and Dominator, Steel Venom is great too. My daughter couldn't get enough of x-flight I think we rode it 50 times. The big dipper was my surprise. It was a good ride I didn't expect it. Loved the new water kingdom. great fun.

| | | Don't worry about it being crowded. When I went during July, most everything was a walk-on! Some had a couple train waits. Now with most of the kids back in school it should be even better. Don't go on X-Flight or Thunderhawk in the beginning of the day. When I went, those had long lines early and extremely short ones later. Wildwater Water Kingdom is a really nice waterpark, but the crowds are heavier there. You may wait half hour to 45 minutes for Liquid Lightning. If you haven't been on one of these before I would say it's worth the wait. You may want to get there earlier to avoid waiting that long. Okay, that's about it. Hope you have a good time! |

BWAHAHAHAA!
I do agree though. Most of the bickering is towards wooden coasters or Arrow loopers. Neither of them bother me. Mean Streak is the coaster I hear the most complaining. Honestly, I did find some roughness in it, but not enough to make me never ride it again. I don't know about SOB since I haven't ridden it yet.

| | | I wrote a rather extensive trip report on my recent rip to GL, only to have my PC crash and 45 minutes of work thrown down the toilet. I really do not feel like writing it again, so I will keep this brief. The park has improved since its SF days. Please check this park out if you have the time. It is well worth it. They need our support!

| | | Sounds good. I'm going on Sept.10, most rides should be a walk-on. Oh, Mean Streak is VERY rough, it really hurt my back, halfway through the ride I realized that if you don't have your back against the backrest, your ride will be a LOT better. |

| | | I'm going next year for the first time since 2000. I'm really looking foward to seeing what the park looks like now and how much it has improved. I'll bet it's a bit nicer and cleaner now.
