I don't know how many of you are from South East Asia or visit there frequently, but this is a brief introduction of what's there.

Malaysia has 2 major amusement parks. One is Sunway Lagoon, and the other is Genting Highland.

Sunway Lagoon is located in one of the satellite city (Bandar Sunway) outside the capital, Kuala Lumpur. It's located inside a quarry, about a few hundred feet deep, less than a mile across (the company that own the park, plus developed Bandar Sunway started out as construction material supplier). It has one of the largest water park in Asia, with a giant surf pool. The dry park has a surprisingly huge arsenal of flat rides, though all of them are kind of outdated by US standard. It has only 2 coasters, none of them serious enough for adult. Drier Looping (a triple looping, smaller sibling of Thriller) made a short stay there before going back to Europe. I never been to the dry park, but been to the water park once.

Genting Highland is a casino resort (the only casino on land in South East Asia) 6000ft high on top of a mountain an hour from the capital. In fact the Chinese name of Genting means 'top of the cloud'. It features 4 coasters, one Vekoma corkscrew, one mine train, one Jet Star and one enclosed. It doesn't have any flat ride though, but the most recent attraction is a Space Shot, located beside a cliff. It also has a old Showscan bench simulator. It has a log flume too. I been there when most of the rides were not up yet.

NTUC Escape is a very small amusement park in Singapore, owned by a labor union coorperative. It's very small (I think about the size of Kumba's footprint). But it has flats rides, kiddie rides, a go kart track, water rides, simulator plus 2 coasters, nothing is missing from every category. But because the land is so small, an adult coaster is out of the question. There is one kiddie coaster plus an enclosed wild mouse. Just like any public place in Singapore, this park is very clean and organized. Been there during December last year. Photos and review are coming up in my homepage.

Thanks for the excellent report. It's not often you find someone with that type of knowledge of coasters so far away.
