i recently went on vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama.
down there the second day we were there, July 19th, we went to a local waterpark called Waterville U.S.A. **there is a coaster at the bottom**
we arrived there at opening time and man this park must be a big hit for vacationers b/c the line to get in was 1 hour long!
after the grueling wait in line we went in and staked our claim at the lawnchairs in front of the wavepool.
this was my first trip to an actual waterpark, so i tried out the wave pool first seeing that ive never been in one before.
when i got in it was very crowded. too many kiddies in the 2-4 ft. section where the waves broke, so i grabbed a tube and went to the 6ft. section right at the rope. once you are there you cant go any further. when i was at the rope it was like sitting out in the ocean about 150 yds. off shore. the waves rose to like 8 to 9ft. then down to 4ft.
it was fun because you sit up in the tube and lean back and close you eyes and it gives you the same feeling as going through a very smooth bunny hill!

so i sat there for like 2 hrs. just dreaming i was on the final hill on Apollos Chariot and just kept going over it over and over and over again.
finally it began to get boring so i went and checked out the slides. the smaller tube slides werent crowded so i went and rode those a couple of times--no big deal. Next i checked out the 55ft. 77 degree water slide and waited a mere 10min. to ride it!
must i say AIRTIME! it was great. so i went and checked it out again. loved it once more. by this time the line already grew to more than 30min. so i went to the lazy river and went 3 laps around.
now it was 3pm. and i was down with the water and wanted to hit the one thing i looked forward to all day! the **COASTER!!!!!!!
me and my dad grabbed non-stop ride passes and headed to the station. when we got there it was a walk-on(might i add that this coaster is virtually a walk-on EVERY time, even in pics there are only like 5 ppl on the ride) so we got in our seats.
first we tried the back row. the only thing holding you in is a seatbelt! the lapbar isnt even touchable with my knees when sitting!!!!!
so then we came out of the station and started making our way up the small lift of only 65ft. to the top of CANNONBALL RUN. the lift is very fast and only lasts about 5 seconds. this coaster gives PHENOMENAL airtime! i mean the most ive ever felt!!!!!!!
the first drop is a mere 62ft. but feels just like a bunny hill and goes 55MPH!! it also has 2 great headchoppers, one at the rop and one at the end. after the drop you go into a series of 3 bunny hills! you never lose speed!!!! the same airtime as the first hill! i think i never was fully in my seat for more than 3 sec. the whole ride!!! after the 3 bunny hills you enter a cool helix thats i very fast, more than you think. then its into another set of three bunny hills, once again the same exact thing. after the third bunny hill you hit a turn and get huge laterals!!!! what fun!!!! then its into the brake run at 42 MPH!!!!!
what a ride!!! and let me say its the same way in EVERY row on that train!!!! we tried every row twice. they also give you 2 circuits for one ride!!!!!!!!!!! its great
as a total me and my dad rode it about 54 times that day!!!!
like 12 times in the back (or 24 full circuits)
Overall this coaster earns my number one wooden coaster spot and my #5 coaster spot.
i rate it a 10/10!!!!!
Excitement-Before:5.4 After:10!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun-10!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Airtime-off the charts! probably a 15!!!!
Loading time-10!!!!!! what loading time?? there never is any!
Speed-9!!! it just never loses its speed, but 55 is average
comfortable?-9!!! it doesnt hurt at all!! its no B&M but its good!!
and an extra 10 for giving 2 circuits for one RIDE!!!!!
also this coaster was made by CCI in 1995.
its white with blue handrails and has three flags on the right side at the top, one of Waterville U.S.A. one of Gulf Shores, AL and one of AL state flag.
this is a MUST RIDE!!!!!!!**
