I went to Great America yesterday. It was a hot day, so our first ride was going to be a water ride. We decided on Logger's Run. The wait was just about an hour. Finally we got on and it was only about 10 minutes after going on that it started to rain. We headed to the nearby mall Gurnee Mills to wait it out. We were there for about an hour. We got back after the rain had stopped. Our first coaster for the day was Batman, the wait was about an hour, it would have been about 45 minutes but we waited for the front. After Batman, we went on Iron Wolf since the line was a little shorter than some of the other rides, it was about 30 minutes. We went on Viper next which wasn't too bad a wait, only about 20-25 minutes. We wanted to save Raging Bull, American Eagle and V2 for night. Giant Drop wasn't operating and at least 3 sections of it had the seats at the top siiting there. It looks kinda scary seeing the seats just sitting up there all day, makes you wonder what it would be like to be stuck up there. We went on Demon, it was only aabout a 20 minute wait. We thought it would have been dark by this time as we got a late start getting there and with our rain delay. We kept with our plan and went on raging Bull, it wasn't dark yet but the ride is awesome just the same. Either go on front or the back, nowhere else on this coaster. The back has so much airtime. We went on American Eagle next, it was running both sides but not timing it to race unfortunatly. Due to the fact that both sides were running it was a walk on. It still wasn't too dark out yet and wanted to go American Eagle in the dark, the view is so great at night and I wanted to make sure that we went on V2 at night. It was finally time for V2. I've been on S:UE at SFWOA twice and I have been on V2 twice but never at night and never in front. We decided to wait this time for the front. It was about a 35-40 minute wait to the station and about another 20 minutes for the front. It was worth every minute. The front of V2 is probably more important to wait for than any other coaster I've been on. At the top the second time up, you get so close to the top, it's amazing. Hanging over the water on the back tower in something else. A great ride. Overall a good visit at the park despite the early rain. A review of the coasters: Viper 8 American Eagle 7 Raging Bull 9.5 Shockwave 7 Whizzer 5 Demon 6 Iron Wolf 7 Batman 6.5 V2 10!! Deja Vu will likely not open for at least a month at SFGAM. The train is not even on the track, the construction crane is still on site. It looks as if the cable has not even finished being put up. After all that is completed, testing would still have to be done. That would be late August at the earliest. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't open at all this year, you shouldn't be either.

Funny, and I was there on the 25th, and Giant Drop was down, with what seemed like all the cars at some point on the tower, but not all at the top. I wonder what's going on . . .
