| | can I have some advice hello everyone,
I'm taking a trip down to busch gardens williamsburg in a few weeks, and had a few questions. First off, I'm excited to go back to BGW, I haven't been there in a while(drachenfire was still open), so alpengeist and apollo's chariot should be great. Anyway, I'm coming from New Jersey and was planning to stop at Six Flags America(the one in maryland) since I've never been there. I was also thinking of stopping at PKD. Basically I'll only have time to go to one of them(PKD or SFA). Which one is better?
I'd love to hear all your opinions regarding this.
Thanks alot.
after this trip i'll have been to six different parks since march!

| | | Head to PKD if you want toms of launched coaster
(Hypersonic XLC, Volcano, OL:FOF) and some other rides. Go to SFA if you want to go on Batwing and S:ROS. Personally, id go to PKD. |

| | | If I were you, I'd SOOO choose Paramount's Kings Dominion because they have more coasters and the theme park environment there is better. Six Flags America is cool because it has Superman: Ride of Steel and Batwing, but Paramount's Kings Dominion has its own arsenal of great coasters: Volcano, Hypersonic XLC, Flight of Fear, etc. You'll have fun when you go to Paramount's Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. |

| | | Coming from Jersey, It's a question of what you want to ride most. Batwing is the only Dutchman on the eastern seaboard, and S:ROS is a top 25 hyper, and my personal fav hyper even over Nitro. For wood coasters which I am guessing your a SFGadv person, the two at SFA are better (best in the area for that matter) than any at PKD, but PKD has more and Grizzly is great. Launch wise...well Jinx versus FoF, FoF wins. Can't compare a Boomerang to anything at PKD, and the SFA Minderaser isn't great, but SFA has the only drop tower and wonderful flat rides like Iron Eagle. They both have excellent waterparks. PKD shines when it comes to launchers. Hypersonic and Volcano are unique to anything else. Like stated earlier, PKD has more wood, but they slack in flat rides something fierce. If you want coasters and only coasters....PKD is your choice, with 11 in their roster, its hard to go wrong but don't waste time in line for Shockwave if its not a walk on because you'll be dissappointed. Me personnally, I like SFA better, but with its closeness to Jersey you could easily hit it on a weekday and head home at night, PKD is a bit further (1 and a half further south).
You could make a round trip deal, coming down the eastern shore and up to BGW (faster anyways) and then up 64 to 95 to PKD and then continue home up 95 that way when you pass SFA you can judge how long it'd take to get to on a normal day. Everyone will sell you on PKD, but if you want better wood and 2 killer coasters (batwing and S:ROS) SFA is your choice. Its a choice only you can make.

| | | pkd for quite a few reasons
1. Hypersonic XLC is reason enough
2. food and drinks are suprisiingly cheaper than SFA
3. 11 coasters, 3 INCREDIBLE launched, 1 decent steel, 1 standup, 4 wood (one is a kiddy), 1 bobsled, and a steel kiddy coaster.
batwing was good, but to me XLC makes it look like a kiddy ride.
Seeing as S:ROS was down ALLL DAYYYY when i went, i cant tell you anything about that. (seeing superman and not being able to ride it screwed up my WHOLE DAY.)
if you DO go to PKD get to XLC first, reason being it breaks a lot so get it over with while you can. i would be pissed if i got to PKD rode everything else thinking id hit XLC last only to find it was broken for the day.
grizzly at night before closing is a must...

| | | NOOOOOOOOO DONT GO TO PKD
I was just down in va this past week and i went to pkd insted of SFA
biggest mistake of my life. I waited 2 and a half hours in line for hypersonic and guess what ... it broke the **** down and guess what i got for it... a misely back pass for one ride. Ok and hypersonic didnt open the rest of the day. The people in line at the park said that had season passes and they went like 6 times and each time the didnt get to ride hypersonic because it broke. The tech for the ride is great but... its so new that if there is a problem then need to fly a guy from S&S out there just to fix the ******** ride. The mateince people didnt know squat about it. so please take my advice and go to SFA dont make the same mistake i did | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
