Post SFMM Construction Update 8/2

Well, I went to MM on August 3rd. It was deathly hot, but I had fun. One note before I begin my update: I rode Psyclone for the 1st time in 4 years. Either the retracking REALLY helped or I dont remember it well enough, but it's SO fun now!!! Its still rough, but it's fun rough! I loved it . Now:

Thrill Shot: The ride is fully intact, and they were testing throughout the day. I asked a construction worker when it would open. He said Saturday. I can't imagine what theyre still working on. Either theyre building a small pay station like Dive Devil or just extra maintenance. My guess is theyll take away the pay station window on Dive Devil where you buy your video and replace it with Thrill Shot. Seems logical, as you already pay for the Cyclone 500 go-karts there. Geez, they should just rename that whole area pay-per-ride land.

Deja Vu: We weren't fortunate enough to watch this baby test, but workers and other people were constantly up in cranes, lifted right up to where the cable lifts are. ::sigh::

X: Progress looks GREAT!!! The bridge to X is blocked off by a plywood wall, but the whole structure is done and a train is on the track. REPEAT a train is on the track. And it looks spectacular as you pull into the park. This colossal drop and raven turn look amazing. It looks really short though, thats the only problem. Anyways, I think testing will probably start this coming week and we should have X open by the end of the summer!!!

Deja Vu...

Have they re-installed the electric motors on DEJA? The whole motor thing causes me to beleive that the vertical lift up the tower was the cause of the problems. The motors that they selected could have the incorrect torque rating for the ride. Does anybody know if they are DC motors, or 3 Phase Induction.
