Well I suppose I should 'warn' that this is my first TR so it may lack in quality, and I intend on keeping it rather brief.
As a preface, I go to college 20 minutes from Dorney.
At any rate, it was parents weekend this past weekend up here, so my parents came up. They didn't end up going to the park with us, but my sister, roommate, and I went to Dorney today (Sunday 9/25). We arrived (we have CP season passes and lots of work to do, so we didn't stay too long) around 11:00.
First we headed off to Talon. It has been too long since I've been on a coaster! I suppose my last coaster was something at Cedar Point back at the end of June. Now that I'm going to school so close to Dorney, I intend on going a few weekends while they’re still open. At any rate, back to Talon. We waited 0 (yes zero) trains for the FRONT row. The ride, as before, was excellent (personally one of my favorite inverts). What else did we notice as we got off the train? The simple fact that we were the only people getting off the train. No, they weren't letting people re-ride, it was just that there was no one else on the train! Granted it didn't stay like this, but close enough.
Next we headed off to Hydra. Waited one train for the front row. I enjoy the ride, although it isn't as good as Talon (in my opinion at least). The ride was also a bit rough, but nothing unbearable. Still, it was an enjoyable experience.
Afterwards we continued our 'circuit' around the park and made a stop at the Whip and Dominator (did both sides). Both were less than 3 minute waits and proved to be fun as usual.
The next stop on the trip was Thunderhawk. I've always enjoyed this ride (and I'm not a real woody person), but I've found its ejector air to be fun. My sister rode in 1-3 and seemed to get quite a bit more air than we did (sitting in 2-1). At any rate, we still got quite a bit of air and enjoyed the ride (although my roommate isn't much into the wooden scene).
Moving along, we headed to Steel Force. Again, we waited 0 trains. We sat in the last few rows of the train. It too was nearly empty - the 3 of us in the back and 3 others in the front. I love the ride (and the airtime it provides), although I know some consider it controversial. As a side note here, can someone tell me what happened to the third train? They were running 2, but the third was nowhere to be seen (it wasn't on the transfer track). Perhaps they were just getting a jumpstart on maintenance? Of course there was hardly no one in the station when we came back (and not a single person near where we were sitting), but they wouldn't let us re-ride. I know that this is CF policy so I didn't complain, but it was a bit frustrating (although my roommate and I did get to stay on Xcelerator at Knott's back in March which was pretty awesome!).
Next we headed off to Laser (we weren't really in the mood for Revolution). As expected, we got on the next train and had a great ride.
At this point we had gotten everything major that we wanted, so we headed back up towards the front of the park. Along the way, we rode Hydra again. This time we sat in the back, which I certainly prefer. You don't seem to get the 'floorless' feeling, but the airtime and smoothness seem much better in the back. My sister and I then took a quick spin on the Wild Mouse. Finally, we ended up taking a spin on Talon (this time waiting 1 train).
I know, your thinking 'ended up'?? Yes, we didn't stay long -- only about 2.5 hours. My roommate and I had work to do and my sister and parents had to head home (back to MD). We had a great lunch at TGI Friday's next to the park. We had an AWESOME time and certainly look going back a few more times before the park closes.
I'm looking forward to taking my roommate and another friend on our floor to Cedar Point next weekend. They've never been, so I'm pumped to show them what they're missing

Well that’s all for now...feel free to ask me any questions/leave comments. Thanks for reading!
