Cedar Point 9/23

Hooray Hooray I got the night off and got to play in the park on the very first Halloweekend of the season.

I got to the park around 5:30 and met up with my friend before setting off to enjoy the park. Since we were right there we descided to hit up a ride on Maxair to start the day off. After this ride I made it offcial. Maxair is my favorite ride at Cedar Point. I don't know if it's it newness or what, but it is just soo much fun.

I tried for a ride on Twister afterwards but it broke down right when I entered the line, and its no loss to me not riding it so we skipped it and headed for MF.

On our way we walked through Carnevil. It wasn't open yet cause it was only 6 but we just walked through to see what they had. This year they put a lot of classic arcade games inside the tents, like Galaga and stuff. I though it was a neat touch. I especially liked the skeleton games employee in one of the tents. They also put the Kiddie Kingdon Giraff in Carnevil with two clowns riding it. Another good touch.

The crowds were minimal so we quickly rode MF and Magnum before making our way back to our first haunted house of the night. UR Dade.
Waited only about 10 mins before entering. I found it to be enjoyable, but its on par with all other amusement park haunted houses I've been through. Ghostly Manor in Sandusky is much better. It was still fun though.

It was about 8 now so we walked through Fright Zone right as they opened it up. Its amazing to watch how quickly the midway goes from normal, to completely fogged up. Unfortunately it was a little too windy so the fog wasn't very effective in Fright Zone or Carnevil.

Rode some of the smaller rides on our way up to the front so I could grab my camera then hit Lair of the Vampire and Pharoah's Secret before heading back further into the park.

Out of the three walk throughs I'd say UR Dade is the best. Pharoahs Secret has some of the best sets but you could tell they were hurting for staffing cause a lot of them were empty as far as monsters go.

Snaped some pictures of all the decorations and called it a day.

All in all it was a great day. The park was dead, and the weather was perfect! Nice and cool, but not too cold. It was great.

Few pictures below.

Enjoy
-Cid

Halloweekends are the most fun part of the season... I'm going to miss not being able play in the park on friday nights.

I'm sure my managers would love it if I came back for a few halloweekends. I've actually toyed around with that thought, but realized that I need the time to study. I have an insane workload this semester.

Your post has brought nostalgic feelings of the past few years.

I was there on 9/23 maybe I saw you. Did you find the music playing at the Pharohs secret to get really annoying? We went back on Sat and the line was real long and it played over and over and over....

I can't even remember what I was wearing, but I was running around with a little tripod and a camera for a lot of the night. Now that you mention it I did find the Pharoah's Secret music annoying. Now I am a big fan of techno, but whatever that was they butchered it.

Halloweekends is my favorite time of the year
