Trip Report: 2005 (aka longest TR ever)

I've been compliling my TRs from the year in the past couple of days and decided to share. Sorry if some people are referenced just bear with me and if you notice my style of TRs changed about mid-year when I decided to let the photos do the talking a bit more. Also, there's a link in my sig which has all of my photos from this year. I'm putting the TRs together for... um, something (I'll get back to you on that) but for now here is a complete recap of my 2005 so far (excluding the 20 or so trips to SFOG).

Well, turns out my TR is almost 10 times the allowed length for a post, so I just made a webpage out of it, available here:

http://home.comcast.net/~jophish17/my2005.htm

Its plain right now and needs some formatting changes from bb >> html but it will do for now until I have another free evening.

Well I read about 60% or your TR and skimmed over 20%...

Here's some of the stuff I liked in your Trip Reports because it's the exact same **** I do.
-You do trips to distant parks
-You use mapquest, and then try to speed to get their earlier than needed
-You know the pain of "The ride's operation has been suspended."
-You've encounter the 1 or 2 very strange or random people at every park.
-Fan of Family Guy, Bob misses his mommy...
-You have friends who don't always understand why you want to get on that junior coaster
-You have that friend in your group that always makes bad suggestions for park itinerary
-You marathon whether noticeably or not
-You'll take that extra wait to experience a coaster in the front for your first time
-You're respect for flying scooters
-You hate for ropes in the morning that gradually let you into the park, even though it's after the parks advertised opening
-You conquer the parks of a region (I've been to all the major park in your TR with the exception to Carowinds)

Well that's pretty long, but if you combine the 25 trip reports I have posted on these boards over the past 3 years, plus the one I'm writing Sunday from my trip tomarrow to SFStl, you might be beat. You're writing style is very similar to me, and I'm just going to post 3 of my favorite TRs that I think you might enjoy.

My best TR, 2 part series on Stark Raven Mad 2003

Finally this was a trip I took to a SBNO park in Ohio

Thumbs up

Thanks for reading a good chunk of it. All of that stuff is true and some of it made me laugh a bit. The 'longest TR' thing was more or less just to draw attention when in fact its more like a combination of reports from 5 or 6 trips. I have no doubt that others could combine something to be longer...

As for those select Trip Reports, I enjoyed reading all of them. The SRM reports excellent pieces of work highlighting a weekend that was unbelieveable in more than one sense. The Chippewa lake report sounds like something I would have done, and if not for it being about 15 hours away I probably would have done in similar fashion. I still have to visit Geauga and I'm sure another trip to Cedar Point is in the future, so I'll have to explore that park some myself. Blue Flash? Ok that was just my favorite. The way you described the ride and swear by its intensity in the loop and intimidation of the "worlds most dangerous coaster", I'm now convinced that I need to search out this park between my days at Holiday World and Indiana Beach. Thank you much for that report, I never thought I'd be so excited for a coaster that cost less than my car.

Awesome work yourself and once again thanks for reading.

I'm sorry but that site was a quick job because I couldn't add such a long post to the forums. The image links will eventually be fixed and I'll probably make each of the TRs seperate pages but for now that's all I've got.

Anyways if you're still looking for pics check out my galleries in my signature line. I have photos from every park I visited this year. I personally think these galleries are the best:

These two have just some really nice photos:

Busch Gardens Tampa (10/14): http://jophish17.smugmug.com/gallery/884286

Lake Winnie (9/3): http://jophish17.smugmug.com/gallery/780097

I also like the Winnie photos because it isn't a park we hear too much about. Same with these parks:

Martin's Fantasy Island (6/3): http://jophish17.smugmug.com/gallery/578137

Myrtle Beach Pavilion (8/7): http://jophish17.smugmug.com/gallery/718204
(that gallery has some really neat nighttime photos)

And on a humerous note, this gallery holds a special place in my hear:

Six Flags Over Georgia (5/8): http://jophish17.smugmug.com/gallery/523321

Why? Because those are 90% of my photos of Deja Vu operating! lol *

* It did end up running pretty well this year and I got more photos since then but those are the only ones I uploaded

Anyhow I hope you enjoy those and the rest!
