Gadv 10/23 - short, crowded, last trip

one last visit to the park today wasnt such a good one. me and my friend got to the park at around noon and me and my friend decided to hit up the safari since we havent done it in a couple years. it was my first time driving the car and it was quite fun trying to dodge the animals. we then went into the park at around 1 and by 1:30 we were in line for kingda ka. the line was under the white tents next to gasm and after a few short breakdowns and a roll back (the roll back was around 3:00) we were on the ride at 4:30. yup, a nice 3 hour line. we got the second row of the orange train and it was great. we then went to see some other lines but they were all huge so we went to wawa to get food. since it was still early we were planning on going back but on the way out we saw the parking lot across the road filling up and though it was rediculous just to walk that far plus is was cold. so we ate and went home.

so thats the end of my 2005 coaster season. 7 trips to gadv and my total coaster count looks like this:
Kingda Ka-4, Nitro-7, Medusa-5, S:UF-2, Robin:TheChiller-2, GASM-4, Skull Mt-3, Batman:TheRide-1, RollingThunder-1

That was pretty short and Wawa pretty much made or broke the game. I love Wawa hoagies. FrightFest has those terrible crowds. Pretty much September is the end of the enjoyable, manageable line season.

They'd dare call it a sub in North Jersey. Wawa Inc based in Wawa, Southeastern PA must be EAGLES fans as well. My cousins on the Bergen/Rockland county line in NY ask me where the southern most Wawa for them is all the time.

Yeah last year I made the mistake of going on October 30th, the saturday before halloween. I was there the entire day and got on two rides, Nitro and Medusa. At night the line for Nitro was well beyond the sign, a good 3+ hours.

I was at GrAdv as well today, and my trip was a short one.

But...I got there at 9:20 in the morning. Waited to get in, and ran right to the GK. I think that gate they put in the walkway to funnel people through is just the dumbest thing.

Anyway, I was on the 6th train out this morning, and it was my first ride on KK. That ride is amazing! I thought it was better than Dragster. My brother-in-law and I were comparing it, and we thought that the launch was longer and so much more intense.

After KK, we headed over to Medusa, which was surprisingly closed. No explanations. We then headed over to Nitro. Didn't have to wait long. Then, onto B:TR and Chiller after that.

Ate lunch, and then went to Medusa, which had just opened as I arrived (around 12:30 P.M....anyone know why it took so long to open it today?)

Left the park at around 1:15, because my brother-in-law and his girlfriend that were visiting were up from Florida. They had to get back, and had to re-schedule their flights. My wife and I tried to convince them to stay, but they did not want to.

I only made it out to GrAdv twice this year. Wish I could have gone more. I am looking so forward to going back next year, with El Toro, and another great year on KK!

Wow thats bad for going 7 times. That's the kind of count I have for like one day at Dorney, maybe more.

slnewbus - You can't really compare ride counts between Dorney and GAdv. I have never seen a crowd at Dorney. I would be easy to get on every coaster several times in one visit there. GAdv gets crowds.

True. Gadv does get consistant crowds, while Dorney gets crowds on certain days. I rescind my point.
