| | | SFOT Holiday In the Park Questions First of all, I'm gonna be visiting on Dec. 22 (I'm in town for the Ft. Worth bowl, go 'Hawks!) Does anybody have any idea what the crowds will be like?
And second, I know its a long shot, but is there any chance that the closed rides listed on SFOT's website will be open? I really want to ride Texas Giant.
Thanks for any help.

| | | I can give you your answers as I have an up-to-date guide for Six Flags Over Texas on the web. First of all, crowds may be a bit thick, but as the day wears on, you're going to see a decline. Within the last few hours of the operating day, there will most likely be mostly walk-on for the rides. As far as ride closures, they are: Batman: The Ride, Bumper Cars, Flashback, Mr. Freeze, Oil Derrick, Ozarka Splash Flume 1, Ozarka Splash Flume 2, Roaring Rapids, Splash Water, Texas Chute Out, Texas Giant, and Wildcatter.
I hope this helps you out and I'm looking foward to hearing what you think about the park. |

| | | I went to HitP in 2003. Expect huge lines. Flashback, JRS, B:TR, and Mr.F will be closed. La Vibora may be open for some time. Titan will be running, as will Shockwave, Runaway Mountain, and probably Texas Giant. As I said, lines will be huge. I was there for about 4 hours and I only got to ride four things - Titan, with a 70 minute wait, Texas Giant, with a 30 minute wait, Antique Cars, with a 15 minute wait, and Runaway Mountain, with an 85 minute wait.
The great thing is that there will be campfires going all around the park and coffee and hot chocolate are readily available. Also, don't bundle up. It'll be in the 60's or 70's.
It may not be the best time to go to the park, but it sure is better than braving the summer heat of Texas.

| | | The post I made above are offical closures, no changes what-so-ever. It may have been in the 60's or 70's when you came here 2 years ago, but I live here and I can tell you that it'll drop down into the 40's and 30's after 7. During the day, expect mid-50's. |

| | | Uhhh...oh well, I'll deal with the crowds.
How is all the Christmas stuff? I'm honestly not going much for that, I'm just going for the rides. I'm spoiled by SDC's Christmas festival.
As for the weather, I won't be surprised by anything. I went to Houston last Xmas, there was an ice storm and it was in the 30s for an entire week. And it was I think around 60 here in KC.

| | | Well, of course, SFOT doesn't rate to Silver Dollar City, but its certainly not a bad display of lights and other theming. Just be ready for any kind of weather. We were down in the teens on Thursday when there was an ice storm and as of today, it got up into the mid-60's just a few days later and there's no ice left. Pack accordingly, because as you may or may not know, Texas weather is a crazy one. |

| | | It's just like that here. Last Wednesday we got like 10 inches of snow and canceled school on Thursday and Friday. Today was around 50-60 degrees.
There's nothing like good ol' midwest weather.

| | | I just got back from this weekend. It was pretty nice but with Giant closed, its a drawback. We did 6 coasters in 8 hours and that was with 30 minutes wasted waiting for SFOT Source. Titan had a 1:30 long line and Runaway Mountain was 1:00 hour long. If you've done an indoor coaster, don't wait for Runaway. The others are all walk-ons for the most part.
I had on pants and a sweatshirt and got a little chilly. I'd advise gloves and 2 sweatshirts and pants.
Steel, you must have a petite expectation of lines. 1 hour is norm for me and acceptable. I won't wait over 2:30 long though. SFStl hardly ever goes over 1:00, Gam will hit 2:30, SFOT hit 1:30. IDK where SFOT Source is coming from, the park hardly emptied at all an hour before closing, Titan's line shortened by 20 minutes but other than that it all stayed the same. Expect Titan to have the longest line but do it anyways. Front row especially, if you like air, then don't do it. It has minimal amounts, if you like posis though, its fo you. |

| | Note I didn't say stuff like ' it is' or the like. I think telling what happened last weekend is comparable to what will happen next weekend.
Heh, at least I can be on time for arrangements... |

Have a good time Cory, don't worry about planning it, just wing it. |

| | | Yeah, problems with past arrangements have nothing to do with trying to help someone plan for their trip. |

| | | If they were planning to meet up with you it would, it would get them 2 or more rides! But thats on the w/e end.
If you want to be a pansy like your doing, don't do it on a forum, AIM works best... |
