Western PA Parks

I'm thinking of doing a trip up to Coastermania in June and either before or after hitting Geaugua Lake, Kennywood and possibly a few of the smaller parks in Western PA.

Are there any that are better than others? I'm thinking of Lakemont and Idlewild but wanted some locals advice.

Also, is it fairly easy to find these places?

Kennywood and GL are off the highway by a couple miles. It is not hard to find them. Which way would you be going up? If you are going up I81 Hershey is on there. I would definitely recommend that, and Dorney is an hour and a half from there and gadv is another hour and a half from Dorney. Hershey, Kennywood, Dorney, and GADV are all must see parks. Try to hit them up. Another park that is half an hour from Hershey is Dutch Wonderland. It is a beautiful little family park that has this really nice CCI family coaster (it looks small but the ride does not feel small at all).

^ I am really going to try to stay on the Western side of the state, so I was looking at some of the smaller parks that have older wooden coasters.

The only park I have been to on the western part of the state is Kennywood and that was awesome! That park is insanely awesome.

Conneaut Lake and Waldameer are apart by only about an hour. Waldameer is a nice little park with a Maurer-Shone spinner and a PTC junior woodie. Conneaut Lake's Blue Streak in the back seat alone is worth the $12-15 they charge for POP wristband. Conneaut is worth a visit because it might not be around much longer.
