This whole past week, I was planning to go Sunday but I ended up going today instead. Wise choice. Although it was freezing and somewhat damp, there was not one drop of downpour during my whole visit! It was also as empty as I've ever saw! So I got there around 3:45. I was gonna start at the North End like usual, but decided to change up my routine a little. I went to Thunderbolt first. Thunderbolt: I wanted the front but I got the second car. Good enough. This chainlift always scares the crap out of me because it feels like the trains themself is falling apart! Once the ride gets going though, the roughness lets up. This ride is a little rough, but in a good way. Oh man, was this coaster soooooooo much better than I ever remebered! It was actually sprinkling a little even though it stopped after the ride. Felt faster than ever, and I got floater air down all the drops and the usual ejector air on the last bunny hill. This ride is just plain fun. Great start to my day. Superman: Only one train running, so the short line it had still took about 30 minutes. I went to the front row. I could of took a middle seat and got on sooner, but I wanted the front pretty bad. I was a little nervous about leaving my camera in the cubby, but it was fine since there was only one train. There is no way anyone can take it during the ride with only one train running. Anyway, I had a great ride on it like usual. I forgot just how straight down that drop feels in the front seat! It's such a great feeling cresting that lift with nothing in front of you like that! The rest of the ride delivered like usual, but the drop is what I really love about the ride unlike most people. Poison Ivy: I was walking to the south end to hit up Batman, but along the way I was tempted by the greent twisted track wrapped around the nice little forest of greenery. I decided I'd do it since there were no lines anyway. I ended up getting second row. This ride is soooo weird! The front crawls down the hills, and flys up them. It's pretty decent for a family coaster and has pretty good forces too. Batman: I almost rode Buzzsaw along the way, but it was closed I think. Got a couple photos of Mind Eraser though. Batman had about a 10 minute wait because there was only one train again. I got the 5th row. There was nobody waiting for it so I got on quick. This ride is much more intense the further back you sit. It was more forceful than I remeber. It made one kid sick though, and I don't see how any coaster can. Next i went to get in line for Cyclone. I got all the way to the stairs and saw nobody. I ran up the steps, and saw that only the ops were there. I thought "A whole train to myself! Could it be anymore perfect?" I was wrong. He said the ride was down and would open later. So I was walking back out to go to Catapult when I saw a couple teens entering the line. I told them it was broken down, intending to save them a trip and one of them said "Why, did somebody die on it?" Funny thing is, he was completely serious and said it like it was completely normal question. They then proceeded anyway. While in line for Batman I also heard someone say "Let's go on Nitro next and then Texas Giant!" The GP have annoyed me to the point where it's not even funny anymore. I can't believe how stupid smoe people are. Does this like Texas? Didn't think so. Catapult: I didn't like this ride as much as last time. It made me a little nauseous but I was fine after. So many varying g-forces. The lap restraint was quite painful because it was pressing againt my cell phone which was pressing against my hip. Cyclone: I went back and this time it was running. I got the second row. The train was practically empty. It was just two girls in front of me, one about halfway back who was screaming like a ***** the whole time, and two old guys in the back row. I knew this was going to be the roughest ride on the Cyclone ever when the train went around the curve and was screeching so loud I HAD to cover my ears, seriously. It was really that bad. The lift wasn't as bumpy as TB's, but the ride was absolutely insane. Much rougher than ever. I like my woodies rough, but this was a little over the top. Crazy ejector air on almost every ascent and descent, consant jackhammering, screeching on the turns, and lateral jerks that make you feel like you're gonna break your ribs on the side of the car. Not to mention, this ancient ride also has many pumps and jerks in the trackwork. I loved it overall though, especially seeing the expressions of other riders. I was the only one on the train smiling, so I guess I'm a sadochist. Pandemonium: I faced fowrard. I was by myself across from two people, so I spun a lot. I don't know why so many people think this ride sucks. It's insanely fun when you don't have a line to wait in! I like the bunny hill and final helix the best. I went back Thunderbolt. I got the back row this time. To my surprise, I actually thought the drop felt better towards the front. Ejector air is fun, but you don't get that weightless/stomach butterfly feeling that I always crave. Still a fun ride though but better in the front. Combo mode on Scream was broken down. I didn't feel like riding Space shot either. That mode sucks. I had to leave because I was getting frozen solid but I just had to close my trip with a ride on Tomahawk. This ride is a true classic, and never gets old. The slower clockwise rotation is a little boring, but the fast finale at the end is just awesome. It's great to just stick your legs straight out while spinning around so fast. On my way out, I could barely walk straight from so many rides close together. It's good I didn't drive home because I looked (and felt) drunk! Lol. Well here are some photos from my freezing but awesome day! http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/8670/ds...dsc009537ii.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4099/dsc009551wb.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1859/dsc009565nf.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/4376/ds...dsc009576kg.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/5668/ds...dsc009582hc.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6697/dsc009597ry.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/7795/ds...dsc009604gv.jpg http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/3093/ds...dsc009616kr.jpg http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/1223/ds...dsc009625mo.jpg http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/5731/ds...dsc009635fo.jpg http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/7907/ds...dsc009648zs.jpg http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/6307/ds...dsc009650og.jpg Last edited by Bowserjoe; 05-13-2006 at 11:06 PM. |
