| | | Cp Tr 6-6-06 I have never experienced so many rides down in one day. Sky Hawk several times. Mine Ride stuck several times. Demon Drop stuck. TTD - as per usual. Ocean Motion, Wildcat, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Snake River Falls, MaxAir, etc.
I have never seen the park so dirty - garbage everywhere and park employees with brooms just walking right by it. The picnic areas were horrorfying! I don't think anyone has touched those tables and seats since last year.
I have never seen the bathrooms so messy - no TP, no soap, garbage
all over the floors.
I noticed several of the rides need painting - Cedar Downs in particular.
I can no longer ride on any of the Intamin or B&M creations due to the new placement of the restrains. No MaxAir or Sky Hawk either. Losing weight would not do it - they'd have to remove a few vertabrae to shorten my torso. I know there are saftey reasons involved, but if I can't ride, why go? I rode on them before. I don't have this problem at ANY other park - only CP. Does this mean that once they aquire the Paramount parks, all of the retraints will be shortend there too?
I could only leave the parking lot once without having to pay again. What if I wanted to go to lunch AND dinner outside? $9 more? This is ludicrous. The other parks, i.e. Kings Island, Kennywood, Disney, allow multiple returns. Once again, once the Paramount stuff goes through, will that change there too?
One last thing - although it's not really CP's fault, but I think they could do something about it - the language used by visitors to the park. It seemed that every other person walking by was saying "F" this, and "F" that, or that was so "F'n" cool. Local taverns where I live have laws about profanity. Anyone using it will be thrown out - no questions asked. Certainly an amusement park could do the same. I know it's the people these days - either uneducated, lacking any morals, or just don't care even when there's children around. I don't believe the "f" word is now considered normal verbage in conversation, but you'd never would have known that from hearing what I heard ALL DAY LONG.
I guess after 47 years my CP days are done. As we Americans grow bigger and heavier (read the news almost every day) I would imagine that many more people won't be able to enjoy CP either. Maybe CP should change it's slogan to "America's Thin People Roller Coast"
Oh - you're correct in assuming I did not have a good time today.

| | | Sorry to hear you had such a bad day there. Since you said that you now have trouble with B&M rides at CP now, I'm curious, if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? I'm going in July and I'm going to lose a little weight just to make sure I can fit on Millennium Force as well as Top Thrill Dragster.
Now that you said their restaints are different on B&M (although I will say this is the first I've anyone say that) I'm concerned about that as well. I've never had any problem on any B&M coasters but then again, you said you didn't either.

| | | I had a 38 inch waist two summers ago, and I barely fit onto MF and TTD. I am now down to a 36, but I would imagine if you are over 40 inches in waist, you are not riding.

| | | Oh, I've got fitting on MF and TTD down to a science now. I know that if I'm down to about 225lbs with my frame, I should fit without much problem. I also do the at home tape measure test and it's a fairly good indication of where one needs to be at in order to ride.
I'm right about that point right now and I do wear a size 38 waist but keep in mind the seatbelt goes over the thigh on that particulary design so it's my legs I always have to be concerned with. I think losing one but two inches to be safe should be good. So I just have to lose about 10, maybe 15lbs and I'll be fine.
Now though if for some reason, the restraints fit considerably different on Cedar Point's B&M's, that's more reason for concern. Although on B&M's, I always have a fair amount of room so the restraints would have to be a noticeable difference to become any issue.

| | | I really don't think the B&M restraints were "changed," I think it is entirely more possible you just gained some weight.

| | | Well, do NOT count on the test seat for MF to really tell you anything as to whether or not you'll fit.
My wife fit the test seat with nearly an inch of slack in the belt. When she tried to ride twice, she could not even get the belt fastened. The seats she tried were Yellow train 5-1 right, and red train second seat from rear right.

| | | Maybe CP is doing you a favor by making you loose weight. Ever think of it that way ?

That said, I still want to get to your SF park, if only to ride Ka and El Toro.

| | | I know that some of the inverted B&Ms have large person seats.
It is a shame that bigger people are being squeezed out of riding. I know it must be humiliating to be told you can't ride with hundreds of people staring at you wondering why you didn't bother to check the sample seat before getting in line. And I would be livid if the sample seat fit me well, but the actual seat wouldn't fit me. We're talk'n Hulk anger.
Like it or not, for people that can loose the weight and are coaster enthusiasts, it is a good motivator to healthy up and lose weight. |

The seats she tried were Yellow train 5-1 right, and red train second seat from rear right. | Yeah, I have noticed that problem. Both in 2004 and 2005, I have tried their test seats before riding. On the test seat, I have usually had about 3-4 inches slack. And then when boarding the actual train, it was only about an inch and a half or two. There was clearly a solid inch or two difference.
It's also hard too because at the test seat, you have time and can do it a little more calmy. When on the actual train, you're nervous to get it fastened and feel that everyone is watching you while you're doing it. I just simply use the test seat as barometer if I should fit. If I have about 3 inches or more, I should fit ok in the actual seat. Of course this is all based on the last two seasons. I don't know yet if any changes have been made to the test seat or the real seats on the train.
One difference I heard somewhere is that the buckle or female part of the seatbelt doesn't go through that one bar but is now routed under it or something. It's hard to explain but anyone who has been on MF numerous times knows what I'm talking about. Although I don't know if that change is true or not. Can anyone confirm or deny?

| | | I'm sorry, but some did not read my post carefully - it is not the weight that is the problem (in my case) it's my torso. The OTSH will not come down any further than eye level. In the case of the seat belts, yes they shortend them a few years back. Even if I lost 100 pounds, it wouldn't help as the belt would not be at waiste level for me. I have been on MF, Mantis, and Raptor before, but now, for some reason, I don't fit. I didn't gain any weight and I certainly did not get any taller. And my shoulders stayed the same too, although my chest is a bit more muscular.
There is nothing I can't ride at PKI, Disney, or Kennywood, and tht goes for the kiddie rides too. Matter of fact, the kiddie rides at CP will accomodate me as well. (this makes Woodstock's Express my "dream ride"). But even Corkscrew and Iron Dragon are out for me.

| | | That blows, Hank. And I'm planning a trip out there with my parents this summer. I guess it will be a shows only and flatride-spectacular.
Hank, you think 666 had anything to do with all the rides down? Also, the reason CP looked so trashy, Chip wasn't there getting on the crews for not working. Spelling Bee must have been lead sweep.
