| | | TPR's 2006 UK Tour & MORE Update - Power Park Added Hey everyone!
Greetings from jolly, jolly, jolly old ENGLAND!!!!
This starts the official Theme Park Review 2006 UK Tour! We'll be visiting 14 parks in the UK as well as an "Add-On" trip to Liseberg and TusenFryd. There are 53 of us on the trip, so of course we will have daily updates of our antics at all these parks so expect lots of coaster photos, lots of random theme park stuff, and of couse LOTS of TPR member craziness!
We have made it, everyone is here, and we've already conquered our first park! Today's park? LEGOLAND WINDSOR!!!!
Highlights of the day:
- The "Fire Academy!" - A Fire Department relay race as only TPR members can do it!
- Three Credits!!! Well, DUH! We go after the coasters and Legoland has three of them!
- Miniland! Where else can you see all of London including a streaker in less than 15 minutes?
- "Dan Approved" water rides! Yes! You read that corretly!
- Jeff & Lou! These two seem to have dissapeared for two hours. What can they be up to? Hmmm....we have VIDEO PROOF!!!! :lover:
Here's a few photos from today:
Our first park, although an "un-official" park of the trip - LEGOLAND!!!
The Fire Academy as only TPR could do it!
Yes there were coaster credits.
Jeff even counts some of the as two! =)
How's it going Dan? :P
"I hate all of you ******ers!!!!"
Yes, we are all adults.....
"This is NOT an acceptable amount of wetness!"
We got to see all of London in 15 minutes! Awesome!!!
We had a pretty awesome time at Blockoland!!!

| | Chessington World of Adventures photos are up!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk2006/ches...hessington1.htm
Today was an AWESOME "official" start to the TPR UK Tour. First off, everyone loaded up the coach and were treated to some cool TPR random stuff. A "goodie bag" (kind of like the bag of crap, but MUCH cooler!) a TPR pillow and the official "Event T-Shirt." (It's kind of like a concert tour shirt, but with less cloves.)
We then headed over to Chessington for an hour of ERT on both the Vampire and Dragon's Fury. They ran 3 trains for us on Vampire and TONS of cars on Fury so ample riding was had!
Dragon's Fury is just INSANE! I'm not sure how to describe it other than it doesn't look like it should do what it does.
We had a good rest of the day at Chessington. Our group ended introducing Dan to a few new water rides (hehe....) although he refused to ride the "Derek's Garden Hose Kingdom Chairswings", but still. It was an awesome day.
We then made a quick surprise stop to "Coney Beach." This little hole in the wall scary seaside place that makes Nara Dreamland look AMAZING!
Pinfari death machine credits were had and yes, we BROKE THE KIDDIE COASTER!
Anyway, Chessington photos are up now, and Coney Beach photos and video are coming tomorrow!
OMG! Even Chessington has a "NINETY DEGREES!!!!"
"It's a real good thing there's no water or sugar on this ride!"
"Hey Dan....you don't get wet on this...well...not really!" =)
"I hate you guys!"
"Hey! What a great idea! Let's have Robb operate the rides!"
"Hey boys. Check me out. Don't you get all turned on by me and my huge gun?"
Mass amounts of water rides equals need for the HUGE dryer!
Tommy & James are all "Half Arrow, Half Vekoma rides are the shiznizzle!"
"Smooth as a baby's bottom."

| | Coney Beach photos are up!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...oneybeach1.htm
This was an "interesting" stop because it was not part of the official itinerary. It was a "bonus" park. I have been here several times before as it is on the way to Oakwood and for some reason I'm always with people who needed the credits, and this time I was with 52 other people who needed them!
Coney Beach is, how do you say, a "rustic" seaside park. It's got it quirks, and it has quite a few of them! Needless to say I'm sure this park will weild it's fair share of memorable moments on the trip!
We actually managed to break the kiddie coaster! Well, sort of. They had this little tiny powered coaster...and I'm mean *LITTLE*, even Elissa had to squeeze in, and when we asked if adults could ride, they said SURE!!!! (This is not the kind of place that is going to turn away money)
The rest of the story is posted in the update. You won't want to miss this one!
Anyway, onto a few photos.....
Coney Beach - A "rustic" seaside park! (that should be in their brochure)
This was a "bonus" park of the trip and everyone appreciated getting the "Pinfari Death Machine" credit.
Our sad and pathetic group is really have a great time getting BONUS CREDITS!!!
Here is the kiddie coaster that we "broke" sort of....read the update to see the rest of the story! =)
The "slides of death" at Coney Beach were pretty awesome. There were no rules so as long as you paid your money, you could ride forwards, backwards, laying down, etc.
On the way to Oakwood, Dan takes over as the coach driver. No one in the UK is safe!!!
And to end this little mini-update, we leave you with a disturbing mental image....Barry was the first to use the on-board toilet!!! :wtf:
Enjoy today's installment! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...oneybeach1.htm

| | Oakwood photos are UP!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...d/oakwood1.htm
Cool randomness from today:
- Speed is AWESOME
- Insane airtime hills are good
- Barry and Ryan are FUNNY!
- NINETY *FIVE* DEGREES!!!!!! :b
- Large slabs on random meat taste nice.
- Cherry popping skycoaster people.
- Crystal Maze is still one of those "OMG - WTF - This ROCKS!" places.
- More people need to come to this park because it's so much fun.
Speed is really awesome! Best of the three "Eurofighters" I've been on.
It's almost like a Schwarzkopf meets a REALLY high class expensive prostitute.
We likey Speed!!! :lmao:
Giant letter Ms from space have invaded the park.
This 10-year-old CCI still offers a lot of fun.
Megafobia gets double bonus points for having SHEEP!!!!
Is it a credit, or is it an Alpine Slide. Jeff?
Robb vallied on the vertical slide! Fatty!!! :lolr:
Ryan and Barry - Best Friends for LIFE!
We had a REALLY great day. THANKS OAKWOOD!

What an awesome day!

Rita, Queen of Speed...
Tommy & James, Queen of everything else! =)
"This coaster is Cameron's pinball wet dream come true!"
An "Elissa Friendly" spinning coaster!
Oblivion - It go down REAL good!
For some strange reason...we are welcome at Alton Towers! Yay!!!!
Nemesis is some seriously awesome B&M Inverted goodness with a BLOOD
RIVER!!!
This will keep the Elissa fanboys happy for the next 7 minutes.
"You MAY get wet." Oh!

| | Drayton Manor Photos Are UP!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...ytonmanor1.htm
Quite honestly, we didn't have the best of days at Drayton Manor. The place seemed a bit more run down since the last time we were there. G Force was kind of stupid and pointless. And I'm REALLY tired so here's some photos:
G Force was only SLIGHTLY less pointless than the Screamin Squirrel
Yeah, you got SOME airtime over this hill, but mostly...."meh"
LOL! I didn't know parks ACTUALLY called them "Big Boy" seats!!!
TPR takeover on the Dragon Wagon!!!!
Apocolypse is what it's ALL about!
Ok. Let's just READ this sign on Shock Wave. Ok....you reading? Done yet? Ok, so yes it really DOES say "Loud and Unnecessary screaming."
"Loud and unnecessary." WTF does that mean? So can I scream or not? Or do I have to scream like Derek? Or is that unnecessary (well, duh!)
This could very well be the STUPIDEST rule I've ever seen at a park!
And, oh yeah...they have Shock Wave too....
Overall, a pretty "meh" day. Somewhat crappy, but it could have been worse. Go check out the rest of the photos: http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...ytonmanor1.htm

| | SOUTHPORT PLEASURELAND Photos are UP!!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...southport1.htm
Highlights:
- The Wheel! What more can you say? A fun house ride that is no longer allowed in the US made for kids and when a bunch of adults jump on it, injuries are BOUND to happen!
- Cyclone: Classic wooden coasters are GOOD!
- King Solomon's Mines: Want to know what a wooden Wild Mouse is like? OMG! Wait until you ride this!!!!
Anyway, here's a few photos:
So what is the wheel? Basically everyone runs to the center and holds on tight (Tommy & James demonstrates)
Then the wheel starts to spin and a look of terror is on everyone's face. (Ted demonstrates)
In order to hold on, you need to stick your skin to the wheel. (Rich demonstrates)
As the wheel goes faster, everyone goes FLYING!!!
Yes, it's true. TPR members did have fun at Pleasureland!
"Hey fanboys! Check this out!"
GRRRR!!!! I'm *ANGRY* green dinosaur with a HUGE plastic mouth....GIMME SOME CANDY!
Lou gets that threesome she's always wanted!
There are a LOT of awesome funny photos in this update. Check out the rest of them here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...southport1.htm
Now that the trip is technically over the updates should be coming quicker. (we had our incredible day at Liseberg today where the park actually let us hammer nails into Balder's structure! But more on that in a later update....)
Enjoy today's photos!

| | Hey everyone! Blackpool update is done!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...blackpool1.htm
Sorry it took so long, but being away on a trip for that period of time means you get very little sleep and very little time to do much work on the site. Please appreciate the fact that we were able to get as much done as we did. Now that we're back home (bummer) the updates should go a bit faster.
Anyway, highlights of our trip to Blackpool!
Exclusive Park Time for Theme Park Review! Blackpool opened up 2 hours early for us and had Steeplechase, Pepsi Max Big One, Avalanche, Roller Coaster, and Bling all running for us! With only 53 people on this trip, *THIS* is what an ERT session should be like!
Blackpool really is an awesome place with lots of unique rides and coasters.
Ryan's all "I will reign SUPREME on the Steeplecase!" When I rule the world, everyone will POUND IT!!!
Those plastic bench statues got their fair share of molestation today.
Next up on our ERT schedule - Avalanche! (That's the white squiggly one in the middle.)
"Jeff, you owe Lou £50 for each credit!"
Grand National is a racing woodie, that is also a very "interactive" experience as well.
"Hey Aussie A$$hole, I love you!" "I love you too, Casey because you're tall...like a kangaroo!"
And here is the REAL reason the Blackpool update took so long to get posted! When we're having nights like this...SCREW doing updates!!! =)
Anyway, enjoy the full update...it's SEVEN pages long!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...blackpool1.htm

| | Lightwater Valley pics have been posted!!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...ightwater1.htm
Random notes:
- The Ultimate - It hurts, it's insane, and I don't know why, but I like it!
- Skate Karts - Easily the most fun ride in the park that everyone seems to miss!
- Why is it all the men pee on the women in this park???
- Random areas of grass - Well, that's what this park is made up of!!!
- Don't drink the water
Here's some pics:
Woodie or steelie? Does it matter? All I know is that this ride will ****** YOU UP!!!!!
Right there is where the crazieness begins.
"Bring out your dead!"
The "RAT RIDE!!!!" Elissa's all "Yeah, baby...the Rat Ride!"
"Keep going boys. No time for a hot mail threesome in the stairwell."
"How the hell is she beating me?!?!"
"Mommy, why are these scary creepy people performing bizarre hand slapping rituals?"
"I can no longer feel the lower part of my torso!"
SKLOOOSH!!!! OMG!!!
Oh, yeah...we forgot to tell you.......
Anyway, the rest of the pics and stuff are here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk200...ightwater1.htm
Enjoy!
