Kennywood 6-22-06 TR All I have to say is WOW!!! I have been there many times before, but never has it been this empty. We left my aunt's house around 11:00 am and arrived at the park gate around 11:30. In 15 minutes we were in the park. First up... the Phantom's Revenge. It was a walk-on, in fact the train had no more than 8 people on it including myself and my aunt. Afterwards, we were heading for the Pitt Fall, but I felt the sudden urge to ride the Whip. After a fun ride, it was off to the Pitt Fall. This is still the most thrilling ride in the park, and it was of course a walk-on. We were heading over to the thunderbolt, but I took a "shortcut" and stopped by the Swing shot. This is a truly amazing ride. You get tons of airtime and a good dose of g-forces. Could've been longer, though. Once again, a walk-on. After a quick bathroom and water break it was time for the Thunderbolt. A back seat ride is filled with a much airtime as the Phantom's Revenge, hands down. Oh, and by the way, walk-on. We decided to head over to the Racer. I was planning to convince my aunt to let me go for a quick ride on the Aero 360, but this ride was actually closed. The Racer was a blast(and a walk-on), although the station did not switch loading/unloading sides like I heard. Something I did notice was seat dividers and new seat-belts. Now if you read this please correct me. I remeber there just being a leather strap and the lapbar, but not dividers or seatbelt-type bucklers. On a different subject, no one seems to know that you can slap hands. You probably aren't allowed to, but you still can and the ride ops don't yell at you. We rode the Jackrabbit twice both of which were walk-ons, with a backseat ride the second time. You actually float out of your seat, which makes it a must-ride if you visit. Oh, and they actually ran two trains today, which is funny because during a weekend in July with a ton of people in line they only run one. After lunch it was time for some calm rides. I wanted to see Garfield's Adventure, and trust me, it's not worth going on unless it is a walk-on, which it was. A quick game of skee-ball and a run over to the Merry-Go-Round later, we were standing at the foot of the Phantom's Revenge yet again. This time was also a walk-on, as you may have guessed. I decided to ride it a third time right after. It would've been a walk-on in any other row but I wanted a front seat ride. Soon after we went on the Turtles. A fun ride, but it isn't a must see. Next up? Thunderbolt. Believe it or not, it wasn't a walk-on!!!!! We only had to wait for two cycles then we were on. My aunt wanted to take a spin on the Gold Rusher. A very dark ride, but you only get scared in two places(and hey, guess what? walk-on.) I had to ride the racer again, which was only a five-minute wait. A quick spin on the Turpike was only a ten minute wait. After that we took a ride on the Kangaroo(a must see and a walk-on), then it was goodbye to Kennywood until next month.
