SFGadv 7/13/06 Short but Awesome

So I got home from work at 2:30pm, picked up my friend, and drove down to Gadv. We got to the park at 3:30, went straight into the safari which sucked because pretty much all the animals were no where near the road and then went to Wawa for an early dinner. We finaly got into the park at 5:15pm. While driving through the safari, I saw Toro and KK running smoothly although we werent planning on going on KK (we're both fed up with it). While walking into the park, I didnt see El Toro going at all. We still walked straight for Toro, saw it testing an empty train and got in line. The queue was about half full (one full switchback) and about 5 minutes into the wait, they said the ride was having technical difficulties and they did not know when it would open. Half the line leaves (leaving only about a half a switchback full) and about 15 mninutes after that, two empty trains go. 5 minutes after that, they load passengers. After a total wait of about 35 minutes, we were on. Awesome ride! The line was back to a full switchback so we went across the bridge to Medusa. The line was at the top of the stairs with a 5 minute wait. Normal ride, though a little bumpy. Then we took the skyride to Nitro which we found a WALK ON! We got two quick rides on Nitro and then walked to Kingda Ka to see if it had a short line because Nitro was a walk on. It was closed (and didnt reopen) so we went to El Toro to see the line into the second switchback so we didnt ride. We then decided to go on SMLF which I have never been on. Its a nice ride, it goes unexpectedly fast through the course, I sat in front and didnt get wet. We decided to check back on El Toro and this is where the evening turns from great into amazing. On our walk, a random kid asks us if we are going to El Toro, we say yes, he says "do you want to skip the line?" we say "explain" he was walking around by himself and had some kind of weak bone disorder which partly disables him. We make friends, and he brings us through the exit onto El Toro TWICE IN A ROW SKIPPING AN HOUR LINE EACH TIME! Those two rides were unbelievable, the best rides I have ever been on, it really does get better as the day goes on. We decided we were done with El Toro and wanted to get night rides on Nitro so we left him to get two walk on back row night rides on Nitro. Totally awesome at night and the back actually had some ejector air in the cammelbacks before and after the hammerhead, it seemed to be running fast tonight. It was then 10:00 so we went home.

Totals:
4 hours 45 minutes in the park
El Toro - 3x (all 3 rides in the third to last row)
Nitro - 4x
Medusa - 1x
SMLF - 1x
Skyride - 1x

Totally awesome night.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Which did you enjoy more; El Toro or Nitro.

I'm gonna get out to SFGAdv for a day trip sometime in the next couple weeks. Can't wait to get a ride on El Toro it looks to be one amazing coaster.

What is SMLF?
