Kings Island 7/26/06

Yesterday, me and my family (minus my older brother, who had to work) went down to Kings island for the day. We got there at about 10:20 in the morning after about a three hour drive.

first up - Fairly Odd Coaster: this was a fun little coaster, and even had some decent air in the last seat going over the first hill. My mom, dad and sister seemed to enjoy it aswell.3/5

second - Runaway Reptar: not much, but it's a good kid coaster, and my sister seemed to have fun on it 2.5/5

Italian job: Stunt Track: I liked this coaster more than I expected; it was definately better than what so many people have downplayed it as. 3.5/5

Next, my mom and I split from my dad and sister, and went to ride vortex next, but when we got there it had just been closed, so instead we went on...

Flight of Fear: I though the theming on this one was very good. The whole boarding a ufo thing was pretty neat. I liked the ride itself too, but I didn't fully pay attention the whole ride because my hip cramped up really bad. 4/5

Racer (forwards): this ride was painfull as hell; especially after the first hill, when, while pulling out, my arms got slammed hard into my lapbar, causing severe groin pain as I jackhammered up and down at the bottom of each hill. 1.5/5

Vortex: I was suprised at how smooth this was; at least compred to the 2 Corkscrews I've ridden. It was a fun ride, but I want to know why they didn't use the valley to their advantage moreso than they did. 4/5

Beast: this was a good ride, but it was really a whole bunch of nothing. It was fun speeding through the woods, but that's not enough for me to be as great a ride as some people see it as. 4/5

Tomb Raider: this was my first Topspin, and I really enjoyed it. The scenery was neat too. 4/5

Face/Off: This was my first boomerang, and it was alright, but it wasn't that great. 3/5

after that, we met up with my dad and sister again to go ride...

Adventure Express: this was a cool ride; the scenery was great and the ride was fun too, but that last hill is sort off anti-climactic. 3.5/10

Next, my dad and I rode...

Top Gun: this kicks Iron Dragon's ass. It was very fun, but a bit too short. 4/10

Then, to finish the day, I rode the Beast again with my dad, and then the Fairly Odd Coaster with my sister. Throughout the day, I tried to coax my mom or dad into riding the Sling Shot, but they we're too chicken to try it. I was very suprised at how low the crowd was though. Our longest wait was maybe a half hour for FOF and Face/Off, but beyond that, everything was under 10 minutes; Beast was a walk-on both times, as was Top Gun, Racer, and Adventure Express. Due to the low crowds, we were done and out of there by 7:20, even with a lot of down time for eating and my parents needing rest. I'm hoping to go back next year with my brother and ride SOB, and especially Sling Shot. Overall, I really enjoyed Kings island; scenery, rides, and food, although, they are fairly expensive for many things.

You didn't ride Racer backwards? In the very back seat that ride is amazing.
