Free water at SFOG?

Hey guys.

I'm heading to SFOG for a quick trip next Tuesday the 8th.

My question is this, can you get free tap/ice water at the stands?

Carowinds does this and it helps save a ton of money, I was just curious if you can get water for free at the stands?

For 2006 this has been discontinued. You'll have topay the $3.20 (???) or so for the cup... its a Shapiro thing.

You can get free water at GAdv. If you go up to the counter of any place that has water, they will give it to you with a bunch of ice. Last week, they had an assembly line going where one person got the cup and filled it with ice, the next filled it with water, the next gave it to the guest. There was a steady stream of people just getting cups of ice and water.

They still have it as of 2 weeks ago. You just go up to someone at a restaurant or some stalls and ask them for a small, free cup of water.

They may have decided to reinstate the free water policy, but to start the season you could not get free water (as late as Mid-April). I know this because it was a very common complaint against the park earlier in the year...

Any park that I've been to offered free water and any park that wouldn't I would consider pathetic. A park that wouldn't give free water must be really hard up and hurting and I'd be embarassed to work for. Although some parks are a little more stingy than others when it comes to free water. At my homepark SFGAm, they'll give you a reasonably good size cup and if it's one of the sitdown restaurants, you can grab a big cup and fill it with water for free.

Some parks do only give you that cheap little plastic cup because of inventory monitoring pop sales and to make sure they're not giving away free pop. I know that's why some places, including fast food places can not and will not give regular cups for water.

When I was at Mt. Olympus, I saw a few stands that would fill up water but you had to have your own container. I don't know if that's their policy to push people into buying drinks or they were simply out of those plastic cups. Any park that would completely deny you free water other than the rare water fountain is stupid.

Especially when you consider how hot it gets at many parks during the summer and almost everytime I'm at a park on a hot day, you see people passing out due to the heat. Think about many of those times during summer when you see those motorized carts or emergency people rushing somewhere, it's often because of the heat and or dehydration. I don't know why any park would put their guests in potential danger and risk bad publicity just to make a little more money. Some businesses have no morals or ethics. Spend a dollar and keep your guests happy and more importantly- safe!

Almost all the parks I've been to offer free iced water. At Sea World Texas, they gave you the large cups. It seems most parks do, all you have to do is ask...

And I really hope that anyone does not charge for cups of water, that is very sad...
