Kings Dominion - Late April

In April I will be in Incheon/Seoul South Korea. When my group comes back in late April we will additionally go to a weekend conference in Williamsburg that final weekend of April. Griffon probably still will not be open by then and I've done the other coasters so I'd probably skip BGE. I do have a score to settle @ Kings Dominion. If I drive myself to the conference probably Sunday would be just a morning breakfast then departure. I'll probably have just a few hours to stop by Kings and purchase a Maxx Pass. I was last at Kings Dominion in 1999 and only had the time to do Shockwave, Anaconda, Volcano, and Flight of Fear. I have no woodies or the other new steel coaster credits to my name. In what order should I do the new credits? I see a wait on Hypersonic would waste a lot of my time. Perhaps I should do it last? I'd probably get to the woodies first.

Definatley get to Grizzly (p.s. sit as far in the back as possible!!!!) Then get to hurler. Followed by rebel yell. Then just go from there. Check out the Italian Job and Tomb Raider.

Its allways about what you want to ride. I would say hit Volcano firstf as I saw in Oct people still make a run for Volcano plus ItialionJob coaster as its right there close to Volcano. Cross the back of the park and hit Hypersonic. Otherwise hit the rides anyway you like. My expericene is the Volcano and Hyper are the longer waits. But like any park wait times vary as to how crowded the park is along with the day you go, plus the weather.

My biggest concern was when in the day to hit the longer waits. I'd rather rake up all the missing credits before I get to longer waits. I'd probably do Grizzly, Hurler, Rebel Yell, Riccochet, Hypersonic, then swing over for Avalanche, Italian Job and Scooby.

The coaster I am least likely to ride that day because I already have the credit: Anaconda.

^Anaconda rarely has a line anyway, even if there is a pretty large crowd. Make sure you dont miss Flight of fear too, its awesome but otherwise johnny summed it up pretty well.

I was there in October and found that the worse lines were Volcano, Grizzly (which you may not notice until you get into the station) & XLC. I avoided italian Job as they have the same ride at my Home park, which looked busy.

Volcano & XLC are at oppisite sides of the park, and you'll probably find that by the time you walk from one to the other, the lines will be getting longer.

I found that Volcano's line moved pretty fast w/ both trains running. XLC went down from time to time on the two days I was there. So I might suggest hitting XLC first then heading over to Volcano

Unless its in the morning, or before the park closes, XLC gets a really long line, since it has terrible capacity.

I would probably ride XLC last. I'll probably get all the woodies, Italian job under the belt before I go to it.

If you can get to Hypersonic and there is a short line, do it first. Otherwise do it last. It's a very slow loader.

Grizzly is usually dead most of the day, so hit it about any time.

Hurler seems to stay pretty steady. So maybe hit it first.

BTW, a little birdie told me that Griffon is testing already!

The Park entrance is going to look different this year. The front gate area has been re-modeled this year in addition to the water park expansion. Go over to www.coasterpagecannotbedisplayed.net for more info (Look for new for Virginia theme park article).

I believe there is a block on that site. If this message comes back the same way, then you will have to go to a web site (one word) and check out the article. lets try this.

Well, this site does not allow me to post the web site on here. add the word that describes type of ride that has a lift hill and track with the word that represents the sound a bee makes.

Yes, Mwhinva, we don't link to that website. So please stop trying to posts links to it. I am sure that Kings Dominion has updated images on their official site that you could link to instead of the website that you did.

Yes, I did remove the link. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask the staff via PM or email.

cha, the new look is probably due to Cedar taking them over. maybe this year they'll be clean enough and efficient enough to make me want to go for a day, if only to eat a cinnabon and ride Tomb Raider.

I personally didn't think Italian Job was that great of a ride. Like all those rides I was afraid of breaking my neck by the first turn, but i also didn't have to wait in a line cuz i had a friend with the disabled pass.
