I think it's a big difference. Great America California is a mediocre park. You'd probably want to bind that visit up with one to SFDK or the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Grizzly @ Great America really ticked me off for being lame.

So tell us which one it'll be.

I'm guessing they were referring to the one in Cali. Generally people refer to Great America [the other one] as SFGA

When you ride Grizzly you'll be glad you went to Santa Cruz boardwalk as well. Six Flags Great America goes by SFGAM. Six Flags Great Adventure goes by SFGADV.

Paramount's Great America is really mild and for the general public now a days.

These coasters/attractions are the stand outs:
Top Gun
Drop Zone

Sadly, thats it. Vortex, Demon and Grizzly are there just to add to your ride count. Greased Lightnin' was a blast, but they removed it. Stealth was epic, but they removed it.

It's a really sad and lame park if you ask me. If possible I would see if you could go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Medusa is more enjoyable than ANYTHING at Paramount's Great America. Throw Roar on the side with Medusa and you have at least two coasters to spend your day on. V2 is okay, worth riding if you ask me.

Northern California has a huge coaster drought, the only worthy contender for any coaster enthusiast should you ask me is Medusa and Roar.

And the Boardwalk is great! You'll have lots of fun. Giant Dipper RULES, old school fun. Double Shot is top notch as well. Bring lots of quarters for the arcade!
