Canada's Wonderland Pricing/Currency Conversion

On Canada's Wonderland website, the ticket prices are in Canadian Dollar. What would the prices be in US Dollar? For instance, if the Junior/Senior E-ticket is $24.95 CAD, what is the amount in USD? If the Adult E-ticket is $47.95 CAD, what is the amount in USD? When I e-mailed CW, guest services said that the US Dollar conversion is 18%, so it would be 18% more than the CAD price. This isn't right, the USD should be less than CAD amount. According to Yahoo currency converter $1.00 CAD = $0.93 USD or $1.00 USD = $1.07 CAD. So, using Yahoo's conversion, Junior/Senior ticket should be $23.19 USD and Adult ticket should be $44.57 USD. Is that correct? The guest services rep also said that there is a 10.9% tax added to these prices?.

The conversion would be to take off 18%. Wonderland does not use the current market rate but rather uses a predetermined fixed rate for the length of the operating season. So you're 47.95 CAD ticket would actually be 39.32 US. 18% exchange is actually very generous of them! I would have expected it to be no more than 12%

The 10.9% tax applies to everyone...it is a Government of Ontario entertainment tax.

Thanks Coaster Freak. The guest services rep added 18% instead of taking off 18% (she said $47.95 CAD would be $57 USD). Plus 18% off did seem alot.

Also, does anyone know where to get discount tickets (like at a local supermarket) or discount coupons?

The only places that I'm aware of (aside from some work places) is CAA, which is AAA south of our boarder. If you are a memeber of AAA, all you need to do is flash your card and you're set.

Just some friendly advise (Not sure if you're aware or not), but use your credit card as much as you can while shopping. The exchange rate is better.

Hope you enjoy your trip to the Great White North

Mac's Milk is selling discounted tickets for $36.95. And, in order to get the CAA discount, you have to buy it from their office, not at the park.
