Question Cedar Point - help me!

Well, I've been to CP before, that was me more or less tagging along. So,

Does CP have a 2-day ticket? Will the ride & slide pass ticket get me into the park for two days?

Is Breakers Express worth it?

Since I will get in the park an hour early(if we stay at BE), what ride should I head for?

If it helps, I'm going 2 and maybe 3 August.

Yes. The ride and slide pass is composed of two one-day Cedar Point tickets and two one-day Soak City tickets. Sorry, that's the only answer I have for you.

Breakers Express is worth it because by 10:00 when the park actually opens. The big three already have 1+ hour waits. Last Monday we ran straight to Maverick at 10:00 and we ended up waiting 1:30 with no downtime. And when you get in early, enter at the Magnum entrance because it is madness at the Main Gate.

Go for Maverick because the lines for MF and TTD have shortened due to Maverick. And because Maverick is just awesome.

Breakers Express depends on if you buy the package...the breakfast part is a joke...one donut or on danish and a juice, anything more and you have to pay.I found out that CP is just as expensive to eat at as other parks....I liked the park, mind you, but be prepared for the price crunch.

^I know the food is expensive... and subpar. CP really looks bad in the food department after spending all summer at KW.

@SheiKraTTD: How short was the line to MF? I've been hearing that it rarely got past the 30 min mark after Maverick opened. Also, where is the Magnum entrance? Can you just drive to it from the causeway?

Looks like we're leaving home at 6:30 a.m. 1 Aug, arriving at opening-stay till closing, sleep at BE, then all 2 Aug at the park, sleep at BE, come home early 3 Aug morning.

But more on BE,

How are the rooms? As long as they're clean, I don't really care.

and Soak City,

Is it worth a looksee? Or is it just a waste of time?

Thanks for the help!

The day I went(Memorial Day), the line for MF was around and below 1 hour. And we waited 1.5 hours for TTD. Raptor was also surprisingly short. On Opening Day and in the past it was 2 hours the whole day. We waited 15minutes.

BE is good. Not over the top but nice. Where are you from? How long does it take to get to CP?

I live In Johnstown PA. It's about a 4 hour drive. Price isn't really an object, but I'm not spending $100+ a night for a ********y hotel no matter how close it is to the park. Breakers Express is looking pretty good ATM.

CP is really bad in the food department. I find the midway food to be completly uneatable and big $$$$. I've always found it better to just take a break, go into the Breakers and eat at the formal sit down resteraunts. They have a good Friday's there. It's still pricey but you wont be disappointed in the food. If you're going to pay an arm and a leg for lunch you might as well enjoy it.

I really hat trashing my favorite park. but the food there is really bad.

if you are looking for value, yes BE is the way to go, just get the package as you will get two Funday tickets and two Starlight tickets as well as buy on get one free Soak City tickets, plus the one our early ride time ...the package is worth as its only a little more and you get all the tickets...I ate at Chick-fil A and spent $35 on two combo , four drinks and two chicken sandwiches...ouch

oh yeah, you can also get Funday tickets for $32 at BE or any of the other CP properties.

^I found an advert in our paper for $65 Ride & Slide tickets, up to six. Which works out pretty good, because six people are going to the park.

Breakwater Cafe also is good. Famous Dave's is the best food there. But if you're willing to spend lots of money, Bay Harbor is where it's at.

I don't think the food in the park is too bad. Midway Market is pretty good, and it's a buffet, so you can get what you like.

Head for Raptor if you're at the front entrance. Going all the way back to Maverick will take a while unless you're at the resort entrance by Magnum. But if you ride Raptor, you could probably get five or six rides in before the crowds.

Millennium Force also is good for three or four rides before the park opens to everyone else.

I personally prefer eating at Fridays in Breakers. There's also Dominics there which is a nice italian place. Bay Harbour is good [and pricey] and Famous Dave's I've heard nothing but good about. In the park, GameDay Grille is probably the best of the sit down places.

We always eat at Dave's when we want to take a break but if you want to stay in the park, go to Chik-fil-a or Panda Express. The Chik-fil-a is actually better than other ones. I love their chicken.

Gameday Grill was farily good, but I'll probably end up eating at Chik-fil-a.

Are there any good late-night buffet type things within a 15 min or so drive of Breakers Express? I can imagine that 6 teeangers who have been wondering around CP all day could get a little hungry...
