| | | Bge Tr Just got back from BGE. Abosolutly wonderful and beautiful park. I know some people said this park was hard to navigate but I actually had no problems at all finding things. The map was very helpful. I will say that if you are planning to go to BGE, make sure you wear some comfortable tennis shoes as you will be doing lots of walking up and down hills. The staff was very nice and helpful. Never ate anything there so dont know anything about the food as I dont eat at theme parks anyway. As for rides ans attractions here are my ratings on a scale of 1-10.
Corkscrew Hill- (4) ehh it was ok, but shook me around too much and was nausiating for me.
Emerald Beat (10) This was amazing on how these people could dance and move their feet. They were tap dancers. The instruments they played were great and the singing was good too. All around great show, you have to see it.
Lescoot- (4) I waited too long for this. The ride was too short and they only had 1 loading station open. You barley even get wet. KD's is much better IMO.
Roman Rapids- (8) I got really wet on this. This one is very interesting and fun. Very refreshing, I was getting pretty hot so I was glad I got soaked.
Escape from pompeii- (9) I loved this thing. The props and theming inside was really neat but they make you WANT to get wet, I felt like I was being barbecued.
Loch Ness Monster- (7) much better than Anaconda, and not nearly as rough. I still say Tennessee Tornado is the smoothest. But nessie sure does pack a punch.
Griffon- (9) The first drop really does take your breath way. I love sitting in the front row, you can see everything and great hangtime, although the back row has the best airtime. I just wish the ride were alittle longer.
Alpengeist- (7) I was surprised that I found this B&M invert to be a bit rough. It really whips you around hard going into the MCBR. Top Gun beats this by a long shot IMO.
Apollo's Chariot- (8) Great Airtime -in the back- Hardly none in the front though. The helix turn around was very boring to me. But still a great ride.
Big Bad Wolf- (6) Pretty darn rough, but I like the way the trains swing out over the water.
BGE is a great park and I would definatly go back.

| | | I did alright with Alpengeist this year. I didn't think it was too rough.
Big Bad Wolf jerked pretty extreme to the sides. It's much different than the experience I had with Eagle Fortress on the mountain Everland is on in Korea.

| | | Alpengeist gets high marks for being smooth in a lot of the forums I've visited, but I agree that it is a bit rough. It doesn't rattle you around like some other inverts, but going into the twists definitely gives you a pretty hard lateral jerk.
Big Bad Wolf is OK if you sit in the middle cars. What's unfortunate about the ride to me is that it's the first ride that most kids can ride because of it's low 42" height requirement, and it's not that good of an experience for the little guys because of the bumpiness, the unnecessary shoulder restraints, and the large cars.

| | | Glad you had fun! Alpengeist is a bit jerky in areas (cobra roll and MCBR), especially in the back.

| | | I haven't ridden Alpengheist since early 2000s. I've heard they've slowed it down and it might be a little jerky. I'm visiting this summer and will find out for myself.
But until I ride it again it will remain my favorite inverted coaster.
It was so fast and graceful when I rode it. Hopefully I won't be in for too much of a shock. |

| | | I was there yesterday (6/27) and had a pretty good time. Griffon and Alpengeist were awesome. Everything you have heard about Griffon is true! Sit on the outside seats for the best ride. I thought Alpengeist was really good! Alpengeist has been a coaster that I have been iching to get on and it didn't let me down...unlike a few others at BGE. Apollos Chariot didn't do a thing for me! I have heard so much about it and was really looking forward to it, and it wasn't that great. I don't see how it is consistently ranked in the top 10 steel coasters. I sat in both the front and back, and got minimal airtime...It also seemed to just crawl through the course after the first few drops...i should however mention that the trims were on. Big Bad Wold also let me down. The scenery was nice and all, but again, the trims killed the ride for me! I couldn't wait for the second drop over the river, and all i remember is being thrown into the harness as the trims slowed the train down the second drop. Very disappointed with those two! Loch Ness Monster wasn't bad. The interlocking loops was a first for me and was quite interesting. Other than that, I enjoyed many of the other rides and scenery. |

When I went on Mon and Tues, it was more crowded than what I expected.

| | | ^^^The crowds weren't too bad. It was kinda busy, but i managed. I didn't have to wait in line for Griffon all day because I had a reservation for the breakfast and ERT promotion, and they called us back and cancelled our reservation so they gave us exit passes for Griffon instead.
I'm working on putting together a photo TR of my trip, so I'll post one when finished. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
