Question at cedar point, how long are wait times in lines on weekdays?

if anyone can tell me about what the average wait time for lines are on weekdays, that would be great-also, what would be the longest wait times for like the newest rides?

I was there Thursday and Friday and nothing was terrible.

Dragster was like 30-45 minutes, Maverick was the worst line (no surprise) at about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Not sure how bad Millie was since I rode it in Joe Cool time Thurs. and Friday during morning ERT.

I didn't ride Raptor until evening both nights, but it looked very busy. I think that's partly because it's the first coaster you come to when you get in the park.

Avoid weekends at CP at all cost.

First of all, welcome to the boards.

Next, I've never actually been in the pak on a weekend, but there are many different variables. One would be the time of day and the time of year.Yes lines are usualy longer for newer rides since nobody has riden them yet. The longest line I waited in was for Raptor, 1 and a half hour. That was on a Monday. Then I waited five minutes to ride it the next day at the same time of day. So it can fluctuate(sp?) all the time. Expect to wait the longest for Maverick, Raptor, Millie, and TTD. Hope this helped.

I went on a weekend last year.

-Millenium was about twenty to thirty minutes
-Top Thrill Dragster was forty five, but that was in the morning. Later in the day it got to be two hours.
-Raptor was an hour
-Mantis was an hour
-Gemini was a walk on
-Magnum XL was fifteen minutes
-Mean Streak was a walk on
-Wild Cat was about twenty minutes

I guess, this year will most likely have shorter lines, but Maverick will be long. Use your time wisely!

I'd hit Top Thrill Dragster then Maverick. If Top Thrill Dragster isn't open right away, go to Maverick. Millenium's line won't stay too long. It should stay constant throughout the day. The next two longest were Raptor and Mantis (they stay long throughout the day)

Mav, MF, TTD, Raptor, Skyhawk, WT, Mantis, and maXair should all be between 30min and 1hour the whole day. The rest are less than fifteen minutes.

This is all very informative for those of us that have not been there yet....a lot more than you think. It helps us become more aware when planning and wanting to know what to expect.

^ Thanks to all of you above for offering your responses.

If anyone else has any of their times to add, I invite you to let us know, but when you do that, please add the day you went to the park (at least specify if it was a weekday or weekend, if not specify the day or date).

The one thing about this is I might have to move this to the travel tips section.

Since I've started going in 2000, the same year that Millennium Force opened, the line for it has gotten shorter as it's obviously not the newest anymore. Even Top Thrill Dragster has become reasonable, often under an hour on weekdays. Raptor can be very long because it's the first coaster and just about the first ride of any type that you see upon entering the park. And the fact it's a true classic now.

I can't give exact days or times since I'm speaking of all my trips over the last seven years. I've gone mostly on weekdays to help avoid crowds as much as possible. It's obiously too late now, but weekdays in May can be great, the same for September as well. Even in just the second year MF was open, I only waited 20 minutes to ride. And a few years later, only one year after TTD, I waited 45 minutes for the front row.

From my past visits, this is what I would expect from lines on weekdays.

Millennium Force 30m-1hr 15m
It can vary a lot because I've seen it sometimes run just two trains and this can cause a relatively short line to go considerably slower.

Top Thrill Dragster 35m-1h 30m
Another one that can be hard to predict because of breakdowns, even if they're short. The time can still add up.

Raptor 15m -1hr
It's still popular after more than a decade. If you enter early, you might want to check it out and see how long the line looks. It always seems to vary as someone pointed out above. At night it does seem shorter and that's when you might want to try it especially since much of the queue is exposed to the sun. Thres very little shade except for under the final brake run.

Wicked Twister 15m -1hr
I'd guess it's possible that this could have a long line but I've never waited for more than 30 minutes on a weekend and usually 15m - 20m on a weekday but I've heard some people say they've waited a lot longer. This is one coaster I wouldn't mind waiting somewhat long for. It's located right on the beach and you can't beat the view of the lake waiting in line. Not to mention, I like watching impulse coasters. Just watch out on windy days, the sand from the beach will blow in your face!

maXair 15m -45m
Opening year, I only waited 20 - 25m for it. They said it would be 45 but the line moves decieving fast. You might stand there for 3 minutes or so and not move but that's because it lads 50 people at a time. The queue only seems to hold a few hundred so don't dispair if the lines flows a bit outside the queue itself. Figure that 10 ride cycles would be 500 people and each cycle takes maybe 3 mintes approximately (load, ride, unload) so that would be about 30 minutes.

Mantis 20m - 1hr
This one really should only take 5m - 20m but lately when I've been there on weekdays, they only run two trains instead of three which makes for a long and slow moving line. So just look how many trains are running and if it's only two, figure it could be closer to an hour...a long hour.

Maverick 1h-2h
I haven't been there yet this year so I'm mostly going on what I've heard from others and just what you would expect from a new big ride at a popular park.

Skyhawk 30m -1h
I waited about 30 to 40 minutes last year in my only visit and ride on it. Figure it would be about the same.

Magnum 5m - 30m
With so many newer, faster, bigger rides, this former record breaker rarely has a long line. Most times I've been on it in recent years the line didn't form until just two rows of queue before the station. Expect to wait longer in the station itself than in the queue. It can be a little messy and crowded in the station and look for a 5m -10m wait once in the station.

Power Tower 10m - 45m (depending on what side)
The space shot is a quicker line due to how the ride works, you're shot up so that takes less time than being taken up to the top as in the turbo drop side. You'll notice the difference in line too after the line splits. The turbo drop sid is always longer and goes slower.

Many or most other rides and coaster will be a walk on or at least less than 20 minutes, even on weekends occasionally.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to the forums, first of all!!!

When I go to Cedar Point, I usually go on weekdays. I never go on weekends, because the wait for like, Blue Streak, is 40 minutes, and TTD? Don't even think about going on it.

But anyways, on weekdays, it isn't really that bad! Most rides (excluding TTD and Maverick) are no more than 30 minutes. They are either 15, 20, or 25. Nothing big. Now for TTD? I'm guessing around 60 minutes, and Maverick also around 60 minutes. Now, these are just guesses for TTD and Maverick.

Hope you have fun! (That is, if your going!)

I've been there twice this year on weekdays, and here's my wait times:
Early June (Thurs.):

Raptor: Very short. 5 mins in the morning (10-10:30), grew to about 30 by mid-afternoon.

Blue Streak: Walk-on all day.

Wicked Twister: Broken down all day.

TTD: This really surprised me. 15 mins barring any breakdowns. (ended up at about a half-hour).

Magnum: 10 mins max.

Millennium Force: I went during Joe Cool, and it was about 10 minutes.

Mantis: Walk-on. In fact they were running some completely empty trains.

Maverick: 1-1.5 hours all day. Never shortened, except during Joe Cool (5 mins).

Gemini: Walk-on to 15 minutes.

Skyhawk: Not sure about other times, but mid-afternoon was a walk-on.

Late June (Mon.):

Raptor: 15-30 mins

Millennium Force: 30 mins - 1 hour

TTD: 10 mins-1 hour

Magnum: 30-45 mins

Maverick: 1-1.5 hours (half-hour in Joe Cool)

Gemini: walk-on

Skyhawk: walk-on to 10 mins

There you have it. The wait times at CP on weekdays.
