All new SoB rules!

With a combination of retracking and new trains SoB is hands down a fantastic coaster. It is airtime galore over the hills. I can honestly say it is just as great as El Toro as far as smoothness and airtime. The first drop on SoB is hands down better than El Toro's!

I smell someone who hasn't ridden SoB or El Toro. You really must be joking to compare the 2. I have heard from KI locals that the ride barely got better from what it was.

I have ridden SOB before it got its rehab. I know that ride is not fixable to the point that is that smooth. I'm sure it is an improvement but not that large of an improvement.

Didn't the remove the loop? I'm sorry....but I will never ride that ride again because its loop was its personality, and it just wouldn't be anything amazing no matter how "smooth" it may be.

How about that long un-eventful break run.....is it still there slowing even though the loop is gone? Last time I rode the only part I really liked was the drop out the station and the monster drop. Back then in pre-rider destruction days, the only smooth part was the loop......LOL!

Hey, Alan, how 'bout ya go try it. I know I am. I'm not going to jump to conclusions and where are your sources that it was barely an improvement? Man, go ride it. Ya never know how much better it could get. I'm gonna stay optimistic on this one.

Has anyone else actually experienced the new ride yet? As in ANYONE?!
See the last sentence of the above post for my response to this.

Whoa! This will be awesome if it is smooth! I rode it the first year of opening and it was rough. Hopefully this is true!

Why do people think it's impossible for SOB to redeem itself? You'd be surprised to find out how much a new train, replaced wood, and an extensive rehab can do. I also have heard reports of people going on the the new and improved version and all comments have been positive so far.

Back in 2005, I finally got to ride Son of Beast for myself and it was even worse than I had feared. It was a huge disapointment considering it was the fastest, tallest wooden coaster and all the other firsts and records it has. It was easily the most rough coaster I've been on.

I don't know the layout well since I only rode it once but if it's been improved by having a new train and some other work to it, that's great! I'll be there in less than four weeks and I'm looking forward to trying it again. I think it defintely has potential.

I'm saying its not as smooth as he is saying it is. I'm sure that there are parts that have gotten a lot better but not the entire ride. My sources are the people over at KIExtreme.com I talk to the owner of it every day and he said that other KI regulars that SOB was improved but not to a point where it was re-ride worthy.

Alan, before you start making negative comments about a ride based on oppinions maybe you "YOU" should actually ride it! My oppinion on the coaster is based on "MY" first hand interaction with the ride.

If "I" want to reride SoB that is my business because "I" believe it has improved so much!

Based on your reasoning, I believe that every ride at valleyfair sucks, based on oppinions I have heard!
