| | | SFGA Tips Well, on August 24th I'll be heading out to Great Adventure for one day and I have a few quetions.
1. How bad are the lines on Fridays in late August(the 24th) and will I be able to get all the coasters in?
2. Would it be worth it to get the Speed Pass?
3. Say that I am able to get all the coasters in, limiting me to a few flats, which ones are worth riding?
4.What places have the best food?
Any other tips are greatly apreciated. Thanks.

| | | I would also like to know about the park on Monday the 26th of August. I need to decide if I go to BG on the 27th or the 26th or SFGA on the 27th or 26th. I am open for what you guys think.

| | | I went to SFGA on a tuesday, and there were barely and lines, if you have a time crunch you have to ride El Toro, Medusa, Kingda Ka, and Nitro those are a must. And if you have to cut somethings dont go on Batman the Ride, Superman Ultimate Flight and Great American Scream Maching, they suck. |

| | | I will be there all day and plan to get all the credits I can. I want to ride GASM because I have always wanted to ride Viper at SFMM even if it is an Arrow I just thought the tall loop looked fun. I know that they are not the exact same ride but close from what I read.

| | | In late august, all the kids are back home and preparing for school. The park will be overflowing with people, especially with all the deals for tickets(Buy one get one free reels em in)
I went there two years ago on that date exactly and the lines were terrible. I would say it would be worth it to get the speed pass, but get there early as they tend to sell out quickly. I arrive usually at open and still haven't been able to get one. Being at the park all day long from open to closing without the speed pass, I would say 6 rides if you wait for KK and ET.

What date was that and what day was that two years ago?

| | | August 24th in 2005, it was a wednesday, exactly a week before school started (for me at least). I can only imagine a Friday would be worse.

| | | We plan on buying everything online, so if I do get the Flash Pass(not Speed Pass, sorry) I'd buy it ahead of time on the internet.

| | | I thought you were talking about SFGAM for a second, not SFGADV. On that exact date in I think 2004 there was blackout causing the train after me on GASM, which had my uncle, to stop on the MCBR. Lucky him got to walk down the MCBR steps. I think if you really want to get the KA and Toro in you'll need a pass. I'm not so concerned about you needing one to get on Medusa, NITRO, and Batman. On NITRO and Batman especially BTR it'll just be more convenient but you can still do without. I dont' see a reason to Flashpass Medusa. S:UF has enough of fad attraction I think you definitely need it there. Medusa, NITRO, and Batman are given to must ride. Blackbeard Treasure Train is pretty easy to get on quick.
If my CHILLER is still not sick, visit there first thing in the morning if it's available.

| | | El Toro - This year its been running really well with quite short waits. On Friday, you can probably expect a 30-60 minute wait in the middle of the day. The full queue means a 45-60 minute wait. Sitting in the back is a must.
Nitro - when the queue is completely full (up to the NITRO sign) and its running 3 trains (which it does on sunny days), the wait is about 45 minutes. most afternoons its a 20-45 minute wait.
Kingda Ka - KK is running amazing this year with minimal waits. With 4 trains running, the line moves very fast. Middle of the day on Friday, I would expect 20-40 minutes with 4 trains running. With less than 4 trains, you can add a lot of time to the wait so check out how its running before hand.
Chiller - Hard to say since it was barely open this season.
Superman: UF - if this is running one train (which it did a lot of last season), dont even go near it. if its running two trains and the line is up to the bubble, you can expect a 90 minute wait. I would guess on Friday would be an hour wait in the middle of the day with a walk on in the evening/night.
Medusa - With high capacity and the ride being far away, the line doesnt get long. I would expect a 15-30 minute wait in the middle of the day.
Batman the ride - I havent been on this for a long time so I don't know how the line has been but I would guess its a little shorter than Nitro's.
Great American Scream Machine - wont be more than 10 minutes, most of the time its a walk on.
Rolling Thunder - Shouldn't be much of a line. probably 0-10 minutes depending on how many trains its running.
That takes care of all the major coasters. Like CHILLER said, our only major flat we still have left is Twister (top spin) which you can probably find at most major parks so its up to you if you want to ride it. We also have the Space Shuttle which is a looping pirate ship but I've never been on it and theres a good chance it wont be open. Also is Spongebob 3D which is a 3D simulator but again, I've never done it. The rest of our flats are basically midway rides like YoYo, Pirate Ship, Enterprise etc.
