Waldameer, CP, and Holiday World

I'm gonna make this decently short and sweet but still give some reviews of the rides I'm sure people wan to hear about.

So last weekend (5/30 to be exact) I made my first trip out to Waldameer. I was very excited to see the park is very similar to Indiana Beach in that it has a very welcoming atmosphere. You really feel like the people that work there are all part of a family that is welcoming you into their establishment to have a good time.

Of course the first ride we head for is Ravine Flyer 2. Wasn't quite open but it was a good thing we hopped in line when we did cause I guess it was Physics Day cause all of a sudden there were a ton of yelling and screamin kids everywhere! After a couple of empty test runs they opened it up for the public.

Naturally I went for the back my first ride. Going up the lift was awesome. I never knew that Waldameer sat so close to the lake and it has that Magnum feel going up the lift looking out onto the lake. I also felt like we were as high as Magnum due to the fact your on like a hill or cliff whatever you want to call it. Anyways we get ripped over that first drop which was suprisingly steep! I had no idea of the layout so the ride was suprise after suprise. The airtime on the bridge was decent but the craziness that followed was downright awesome! You can definetly tell that its the same people that made the Voyage.

Up another big hill and down back towards the bridge where I was shocked once again cause the drop coming off the bridge is a lot bigger than I expected and had loads of floater air in the back. The rest of the ride is just out of control. Very smooth and fun. The only part of the ride I was a little let down with was the 90 degree turn cause its completely forceless and feels un-nessecary. Still, Ravine Flyer 2 is a must ride! Definetly a top 10 if not a top 5 coaster.

The rest of the park is great! Rode pretty much everything they had to offer and had a really fun wholesome time. Lines were short, the workers were at the top of their game, and the food was great!

Cedar Point

Wouldn't usually include my home park in a trip report but felt this past week has been worth it. Throughout the whole week I was getting off work and heading to the park for just a few hours at the end of the night. Every night I was granted short lines and many rides!

One night I got on Power Tower, Monster, Skyhawk, Mantis, Magnum, Skyscraper, then 4 walk on Maverick Rides only to top it off with a very fogg Ripcord ride. All in a span of like 3 Hours.

Then the awesome night came next. Headed for some Famous Daves at about 6:30 which was really good! After that we descided "what the heck, lets ride some rides" not really too excited about it, but just cause there was nothing else to do.

After dropping off loose articles in my car we decided to head for Wicked Twister first. Got off the ride at about 8:15 and debated what to ride next. Thats when it hit us.

"Lines are short. Lets ride all 15 coasters available for adults!"

We kick it into overdrive and start booking it to every coaster in the park! WT, DT, Raptor, Blue Streak, ID, Mantis, MF, Corkscrew, TTD, Maggie, Woodstock, Gemini....

At about this time we hear the pre show music start for Hot Summer Lights so we know the end of the night is coming and we still have 3 rides to get it! So we step it up even further and go power walking extreme to CCMR, and Mean Streak. Our hearts sunk when we got to the platform of Mean Streak as the only train on one train operation just left the station. Sunk evn further when we saw the first fireworks go off for Hot Summer Lights!!!

At this point we were counting on the policy where the big rides leave their queues open 8 minutes after park closing as we board our delightfully good Mean Streak ride. Front seat, only ones on the train. No bugs. It was actually really smooth! We get off the ride and we move! I've never walked so fast in my life, but it payed off as the line for Maverick was still open! On top of that we waited absolutly nothing. The gates were open as we got to the top of the stairs and we sat down immediately in the back row!

15 coasters in just over an hour and forty five minutes! It was awesome!!!

Well this took longer than expected so I'll add Holiday World later.

Man, It's hard to resist that Ravine Flyer. I have one day in NY June 29th. Sylvan Beach, Seabreeze, Darien, possibly Martin's Fantasy Island.
